Which long-awaited Rockstar sequel can you least bear to wait for at this point? Red Dead Redemption 2? Max Payne 4? Bully 2? Seemingly, the latter of these is next on the menu. The studio's parent company Take-Two Interactive has filed a new trademark with the European Union trademarks and designs office for the emblem of Bully's decrepit educational institution, Bullworth Academy, in a clear indication that the IP has some sort of future.
Taken out on 20th November, the emblem carries the inscription, "Bully Bullworth Academy: Canis Canem Edit". "Canis Canem Edit" - Latin for "dog eat dog" - was the PS2 original's title in PAL regions.
A quick glance at the United States Patent and Trademark Office database reveals that Take-Two filed an application to update its "Bully" trademark on 25th July 2013. Alas, as of 1st November the company appears to be in difficulties - the USPTO has refused its latest application on the grounds that it clashes with another trademark, "Bully in a Box", which covers downloadable games and books "relating to mitigating and preventing bullying". The irony, etc.
According to a CV discovered in October, Rockstar is working on the "next version of a famous IP", which has been in development since September 2010. The developer has told fans to "stay tuned" for news about the future of both Bully and Red Dead Redemption. Let's hope an announcement isn't too far off - perhaps at E3 2014, Rockstar?
Thanks to JunkieMonkeys for spotting the EU trademark.
This is a game I want! And another Red Dead.

Take-Two files trademark for "Bully Bullworth Academy: Canis Canem Edit" in Europe
If Rockstar was to do a sequel then this is the one I'd want. But, in an ideal world, I'd rather they work on something new.

Cool and nice to hear. I enjoyed the first game.
Focus. Control. Conviction. Resolve. A true ace lacks none of these attributes. Nothing can deter you from the task at hand except your own fears. This is your sky.
Just realised this is on the homepage, sorry about that.
They could've came up with a longer name.
I'm pretty sure we won't see the game at E3, as usual with Rockstar's games, but whenever Rockstar Toronto (whom their Vancouver team have merged with) are ready to show it off on their own time. Thanks to Kwes for the signature!
