    24" monitor vs 42" TV

Basically i have a 42" 1080p LG LED 3D tv and a 24" 1080p LED IPS pc monitor, which would be better for gaming?? I'm not too bothered about sound as I will get a decent headset when they start popping up.

    Thanks!

I think putting in a poll here would be a good idea

As far as my opinion, I would go for the TV

I'd go for the 24" IPS monitor without a second thought. While the 42" has a bigger screen, the colours of the IPS display and the crystal clarity of the 24" cannot be compared.

Hmm tbh I haven't played games on the 42" tv yet as I got it recently and had sold my 360 by then, I did play the 360 on my 24" IPS and my old 42" tv but the old tv wasn't exactly anything to compare with.. That is why I started using the 24"..

Input lag is the main thing. An IPS panel isn't the fastest but probably much faster than a TV. I play on a 25.5" TN panel that is pretty quick. I played my PS4 on my TV the other day and it seemed pretty noticeable on BF4. I have a 52" Samsung TV.

I feel its Personal preferance. Depending if you want to sit closer to the Monitor and be Immersed into the game play or sitting far away from the 42". Personally i went with the latter. I love sitting close and really getting into the game, I have tried it on my 55" and i find myself not being able to concentrate on the screen as there and to many thinks happening around me.

so yeah i would stick with your monitor. !!

The bigger the better. My fave is running on a 10-foot projection screen.

The LG will be an IPS LED panel as well.

Please post the 42in 3D LED TV model so I can verify, but, all of LG"s 3DTV's to my knowledge are IPS panels.

I'm right there with you. I prefer sitting on my couch then at a desk. I'm at a desk all day for work. Last thing I want is to come home and sit at a desk.
PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

Kind of depends on if you're mostly a competitive player or not. Competitive players tends to go for monitors, since they generally has a faster response time. If you're mostly in it for the experience/entertainment (like me), you might wanna go with the TV. Personally, I prefer a big screen, since I want the same kind of experience as when watching a movie (with my home theatre sound system).
