    Amazon VS Ebay

    In regards to:
    Prices
    Quality
    Customer Service
    Overall

Which site do you prefer to purchase from? Amazon or Ebay?

Me? I prefer Ebay overall. Amazon prices beat Ebay's prices most of the time, quality is about the same, and I have never dealt with Amazon customer service.

    I like Ebay better because:
    1) In some cases, I see the actual item I am buying.
    2) I like bidding for items, because sometimes I get excellent deals through bidding.
    3) Because of programs like "Ebay bucks".

Um, Amazon hands down when you put it all together. The Amazon customer service is amazing. Look. A little while back, I sent a 3ds back to them because one of the buttons wasn't working properly. It was beyond warranty by a month. Two weeks later, they hadn't received it, so I called. They said they would track the package and see what's going on. I called back the next day and they said they couldn't find it. They gave me a full refund for the 3ds. Done. That's just the icing on the cake when I go over all the customer service inquiries I've sent to them.

Amazon is god-tier. Not even a contest.

Naturally Ebay has a more varied selection of things because it's a public store, but that's never been anything I ever needed before.

Amazon Prime takes the cake in every respect. Nothing beats free release-date shipping on games and consoles (what I tend to buy) and free two-day shipping on everything else. Plus, Prime discounts, which are randomly applied to just about everything they sell, are always significant and a nice surprise.

That, plus legendary customer service, against eBay's open marketplace, complicated interface, and inconsistent availability? Amazon. Amazon every gosh darn time.

I'm not surprised Amazon is winning, however, I actually believe it solely depends on what you are buying. There are some things I can get off ebay for cheaper, hassle free and some things I can't even find on Amazon.

I really like them both and am grateful for them. On live online shopping!

TBH, i prefer going to actual shops to get stuff, but sometimes when you're busy....Amazon can handle the stress...until "we were unable to deliver your package as you weren't home" xD

    EDIT:
Amazon (or the courier service) is very good with timing though and you're usually told a long time in advance when your item will arrive. (at least in my experience)

To be in touch with customer service that often, how much do you buy on Amazon? Over 100 items?

I just joined eBay a month ago and have had 0 problems with it. I have used Amazon and have had no problems at all either. Amazon is overshadowing everything else but I love both.

Ive been using Amazon since they started way back and have order hundreds of items not only from them but also their marketplace and have had no problems whatsoever.

Plus, with them comibg out with Prime Air in a few years they will almost nullify going out to shop.

Ever since I entered college I've been an Amazon Prime member and after years of using the service I don't think I could ever go back to normal shipping. Oh I need something and I'll be working a bunch for the next two days? Just ship it. Oh, I want a ps4 and don't want to have to worry about crowds or stock? Pre-ordered it and had it shipped. I could go on, but simply the majority of my buying is now done through amazon. Nothing comes close.

Has anyone bought food on Amazon or dare I say it, eBay? I have not. I still find the concept amusing.

I like Amazon and try to buy as much as I can, especially new game releases but I must admit I do most of my buying on Ebay!

I don't think there is much in common for comparison.

Amazon is an online store while EBay is an auction site (besides the Buy it Now option, which will be probably more expensive than Amazon).
And I never tried either but from what I see Amazon is much better on every regard. I'm also buying a Kindle paperwhite so more power for them I guess.
