Diablo III: Reaper of Souls + Remote play

    http://www.gamespot.com/articles/dia.../1100-6416109/

The PlayStation 4 version of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls will support Remote Play, lead level designer Matthew Berger told GameSpot today at an event in New York City.
"As long as PS4 supports Remote Play, Reaper of Souls will support it," Berger said.
Three days ago at BlizzCon, Berger told GameSpot that Blizzard had no immediate plans to support Remote Play for the PS4 version of Diablo III due to various UI and experience issues related to the PlayStation Vita's screen size. However, he did say that the idea for Remote Play support was "percolating" in the back of the developer's mind.
The Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo III will be released on PS4 as part of the Ultimate Evil Edition in 2014.
Remote Play allows certain console games to be played on the PS Vita. Nintendo offers similar functionality for the Wii U, allowing users to play some games completely off-screen via the GamePad.

    Great news.

I gave remote play a good test today while I was at the hospital. Connected to my iphone via personal hotspot (only 3G not 4G) and boom ... straight in.
Did a bit more on BF4 campaign and tried the FIFA demo. My 3G on speedtest.net app got 12mb down and 2mb up.

Was really impressed it handled it so well

A game like Diablo will look incredibly small on the 5" Vita screen.

I'd have to disagree with that. The Diablo III graphics are craptastic at best (both PC and on PS3) the PS3 was a little worse than PC, but not by much and I don't see them focusing on improving graphics. So remote play shouldn't be too bad.

Add to that the fact that you don't need to be too pinpoint focused on Diablo III (on a console) like you do with a FPS which I can play (but feel a bit uncomfortable doing so) via remote play. I think it would probably be one of the more optimal games to play via remote play.

So you confirm when kilometers away from the PS3, using Wifi or 3G/4G you can use the remote play? I only saw sites doing it with the direct connect to the PS4 maybe 30 meters away.

Im definitely sold on the PS4 version of D3. Does anyone know if PS3 characters can be transferred to the PS4? If they do i was thinkng of picking it up sometime next week or the week after to mess around with especially if it transfers over from PS3. I know PC doesnt work. bummer. i like my barb over there, hes fun... i just dont want to play anything on my PC anymore. I have no desire to sit in my bedroom 2 floors up from the living room and have to constantly run down a flight of stairs to take a leak, down 2 for a drink, and then go back up all the friggin time. Although.... i did lose like, 10 pounds because of all those goddamn stairs when D3 first launched....

I am not talking about graphics. The size of everything is already small because of the camera angle. Everything is zoomed out. Now put the game on a 5" screen. Everything will be incredibly small.

I remember playing Diablo for the PS1 on my 13" TV when I was a kid. Even that TV felt too small for that type of game.

Yes your PS3 characters can be imported to PS4.

I'll agree a little bit to this, that said, the console version of Diable III is zoomed in a little from the PC version and anything you do on a 5" screen is going to have the same concerns IMO. I don't think it's too big of an issue, especially if you're in Post Play Paragon Farming mode.

Can't really see myself playing the game on the vita either (the text would be tiny wouldn't it?!).
Then again I only play it on PC so I can't even imagine playing it with a controller..... It's nice to have I guess *shrug*

I have it for the PC and though I haven't touched it in ages I too will be getting it for the PS4. I love playing games like this where I can have a buddy co-op with me from the couch or go online and co-op with my online friends. I enjoyed the demo I tried for the PS3 as well. I wanted to see what it was like to play with a controller and I liked it, especially the roll.
