PS4 digital to analog audio help

so im running into a little problem trying to push audio out from PS4 to my PC sound card

    here't the set up
ps4 (sound and screen > audio output settings > primary output port > digital out (optical) all formats checked)

optical cable connected to a optical to rca converter

rca r/l audio cable to 3.5 connected to xonar dg line in

but im not getting any audio through my headphones

i did this with my 360 at one point but didn't have to convert the optical cable just a straight red white rca to 3.5

any help where im going wrong

Try the levels for the line in. control panel>> hardware & sound>> sound and "listen to this device" It might think its a microphone so do not want to listen to it.

Is the Monitor equipped with Audio or a TV?
One esoteric bit of wacky may be that the TV/HDMI handshake is overriding default audio?
Try setting your TV's audio to Off or Home Theater Mode (that's how it is on my Panasonic).

Otherwise I am at a loss.

    Here's the Xonar's page, I didn't see anything obvious.

hey thanks for that, this helped me found the solution

looking around i found my sound card was routing the line in to the front panel mic jack
