New Oculus Rift Prototype at CES 2014

    CES is January 5th-10th

The company claims it will no longer make people sick when they use it. It’s higher resolution, lower latency, and effectively eliminates the motion blur of the original $300 dev kit that went on sale last year. And importantly,it now incorporates full positional motion tracking so the headset actually knows where your head is located.

I have been a console gamer for years and will continue but I will be building a PC for this tech, I'm sure I'll play regular games to.

Been waiting for VR for over a decade.

I played a bunch of Dreadhalls on my Rift a few weeks ago, and it's probably the most terrifying experience of my life. I don't think I've ever felt that my life was in as much danger as I have playing that "game". It's insane.

PC gaming rocks I'll be picking up one of these once the consumer units are released. No need for a dev kit really. Unless I really cave in and see something I want

Got one of the dev kits personally with a friend of mine, but not a new one obviously
It's a really nice thing, am thrilled for it to see a newer and upgraded version in the future on the market for a reasonable price, but for now I'm looked out on it as there's not much support going on so far and it's a bad screen to play with for a long time. I played lots of demos that are out and tried Half Life 2 with it and such, but yeah I'm waiting now for a newer, better version with way more support (would LOVE to play some games like Bioshock or Battlefield with it)

Do you actually have to develop to get a dev kit?

No, You can just order one (You may be put on a waiting list) but it is a dev kit not a consumer product. There are lots of games that support it now. They are gonna release a new dev kit based on the new prototype so i recommend just waiting for that.
