    Steam OS available to download

    FAQs
    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ste...4395741989999/

Build your own Steam Machine guide
    http://store.steampowered.com/steamos/buildyourown

    Requires UEFI as your BIOS.
AMD & Intel Graphics are now supported
    ----------------------------

There is a guide to turn the zip files into a bootable iso.

    For Linux users
    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ste...4395813782335/

    For windows users

    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ste...14395816498516

I followed the windows guide and it does work.

First create a folder in C:\Users\Public called SteamOS
Download the archive "sysrestore" and extract it there.
(You can download and use the smaller archive if you want just that "Sysrestore is "default" install)

For step #8 I created a batch file so all you do is extract then double click it and it will do the rest. No need to type out cmd prompts.
You will find the finished iso in where you extracted "steam-iso-create" archive.

Keep in mind that it currently only supports Nvidia GPUs, everyone.

Yep, a Dual Module Steamroller core APU with 8 GCN 2.0 cores... something about 20% slower than the XBO but able to play some decent games without a dedicated GPU.
If I thought the Kabini server chip could use a cheaper mobo, i'd wait for that, i want low power with some performance.

Wow that literally was an unboxing. No close up of the device what so ever. Mind you it is a prototype so final design may not look anything like it.

Don't, apparently it will format your entire disk and repartition it.

Yeah, recently read it doesn't do too well with partitions. IE it doesn't do it at all.

I think I have a 32GB thumb drive kicking about somewhere.

Yes. Add the debian repo's to /etc/apt/sources.list (http://debgen.simplylinux.ch/) and run "apt-get update" and then run "apt-get install <name of package>" without quotes.

They have recently added support for AMD and Intel solutions.

I just tried it and while AMD is supported, it doesn't work very well at ll yet. I played Half Life 1 and it barely runs at 30FPS. Not only that the big screen mode looked like i was in 720p at best, looked really blurry.
But the worst part is how you install it, its a right royal pain in the arse hole but that is Linux all over, everything is a pain in the arse hole to get working.

TIs got along long long way to go yet.
