is Ps3 price over 500?

I'm guessin by the facts i've been gettin that Ps3 is going to be much too expensive for my taste of consoles. By this article http://games.kikizo.com/news/200507/058.asp we know ps3 is going to more expensive than the previous consoles. I just hope it's at a reasonable price. We're not buying no Alienware softwares for god's sake, eh?

no it's not going to be over 500$, they say it's about 399$ but costs to make 494$.

Ya but is that American? If so then here in Canada it will be roughly 500$ and that will suck. I hope they just bring it out for the same cost as the PS2 when it came out cause I am willing to pay that price again.

i wont pay over $500 for the ps3 then ill just wait because think of it this way the price WILL drop later and why spend that much on something that is going to be old and have another version out in a couple of years. i cant wait to get my ps3 and reserve it this christmas but at that price i just cant get it. really though sony already announced that it wont be that much thank goodness.

The console won't but if you attach 2 next gen games to the pre-order (like I will), then it will cost $550, but that's with 2 next gen games atboth at $60 (there's no way around that base cost for a game).

They are predicting it around $399 and even though they are $494 to make and everyone is predicting a 1.8 billion $ loss in the first year they wont lose money because they'll make it up in games. Games cost like $4 each to make and they're selling them for $50 a pop.

I've actually changed my mind and decided to get 3 PS2 games instead of the 2 next gen ones because they're too expensive. I guess some of us would be better off just getting older good games and wait untill the next gen prices drop because EVERY single next gen game (at least at Gamestop) is $60 each. It's getting crazy !

The $60 could just be a guess by them because they don't know how much they are going to cost. That way if they turn out to be $50, hey, they made an extra $10 on each game. But if they were $60, then whew, they didn't lose any money. I seriously doubt the PS3 will be over $350 and if it is, I'll wait for the price to drop.

ill have to agree with most people i know. ill wait until the price drops. if it comes out at 368 dollars like previus playstations, ill buy it and maybe one game if christmas is good on me. I should have most the money saved up to buy one by christmas, but since sony said the ps3 will come out in spring 06, im golden. ill get a couple of games and the system. 1.8 teraflops wow!
