Transistor was my second favourite game of 2014 (behind Divinity: Original Sin) and whoever hasn't played it yet now have a reason to. Beautiful soundtrack, art direction, and story. The gameplay is fabulous too. Make sure to play it on plus mode as that's where the battle system really shines.

Was expecting another retail game, not that these are bad choices just would have been good

I've heard so so much good about Divinity: Original Sin. I really should get a half-decent PC but monies are not what they should be. One for the future maybe, I'll add it to the ever-increasing list

It's one of the games of the decade so far for me, it's that good. It's not everyone's cup of tea in terms of gameplay though but if you like your classic RPGs then you will not be able to put this down at all.

I didn't get to play a whole lot of the big, 'triple-A' titles from last year so I'd say Transistor's my favourite of 2014.

The games bolded are the ones I'm getting. They look interesting, especially Yakuza.I'm not all that keen Apotheon but I think I owe it to my heritage to atleast try it. I'll add the rest to my library and probably forget about them.

Both of the PS4 games seem pretty decent. I'll give them a go. I'd also wish thief was available of both PS3/4 though.

Anybody tried Apotheon yet? What do you think? Enjoying it?

I've put in around 4-5 hrs, just saved at the Artemis boss fight, couldn't beat her a moment ago, time for a break. I like the art style a lot, music too, sets the scene very well. The excerpts from greek text like Homer and writing about the mythical creatures and lore etc are a real nice touch also.

Surprising amount of detail in it with all the different weapons you have. Lots of variety with close and ranged weapons, healing potions, greek fire bombs, train your skills, summon wolves or birds of prey to help, a lot more depth than I was expecting.

Controls are tricky though, switching between weapons in battle is pretty awkward, lots and lots of items in the lists make it more tricky than it could've been maybe.

Good fun for a while though.

Rogue Legacy and Apotheon both amazing , but I haven't enough time to dig into them yet. I am gonna dive them just after done with Thief. Thief is pretty good on ps3 btw. I never expected that.

My nephew's been playing that on my PS4 every time he's here and he is absolutely loving it. I ought to start playing it soon.

Shame they didn't put the PS4 Thief in there, I'd have given that a good go.
