Sony (PlayStation) @CES: Thread of Over-Hypness (Edited for semantics) :p

As you may know CES 2014 is about to kick off with Sonys Keynote on Jan 6 @ 5pm PST.

Rumours are we will be seeing Sony finally unveil their long-awaited VR tech.

    An announcement from Naughty Dog-

    http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/01/...nuary-the-6th/

And possibly one or more of the following-

    Firmware details
    DriveClub
    PS4 Home
    Gakai
    Sales

So what are you all hoping to hear/see at CES 2014?

I'd settle for just hearing about new games. Some PS4 JRPGs and WRPGs primarily.

Though I am kinda interested in the LTD sales of the PS4 and VR headsets.

Yeah same here. I'd rather see some upcoming games and PS4 features.

Don't expect a whole lot of PS4 specific or even just video game specific news. There might be a sentence here and there but it is extremely doubtful anything like a video game demo on the keynote stage. There might be video clips though, Uncharted 3 was introduced at CES 2011, and the PS3 pre-production prototype was revealed at CES 2006 along with floor demos of several launch games.

There might be brief passing references to Gaikai and early sales numbers. Maybe there will be some surprises.

    CES Of Suck

This whole show is about 4K.
4K and 4K Receivers, maybe some cameras will have a 4K mode, THAT would be awesome.
Give me a 4K Superzoom Handycam or better a 4K mode for DSLR/SLT cams.

Microsoft might talk very softly about Titanfall ... and show PC footage.
Titanfall for PC is looking sweet.

I'm disappointed that OLED is falling further and further back and with Panasonic exiting Plasma you literally can't buy the same quality picture this coming year you could last year for the same money. There is no ST70, VT70.
Get a Plasma while you can, it's gonna be a while before affordable OLED comes because when OLED does finally, if ever, take traction in displays, the race to the bottom might kill the whole large display market, hence why they really seem to keep holding it back.

Give me some OLED Tablets and an OLED Monitor then, i need a 24 to make it worth anything, preferably a 27.

Glad I have all the toys I need anyway for a few years.

Okay, yes, I might want to try Oculus Rift or whatever SONY might have in that dept. I have a lazy eye but that variation of tech seems like it won't cause eyestrain.

I'm waiting for 3d printing. If that technology gets advanced enough a company can make a console and you would be able to buy it online, then 3d print it. That would be awesome.

VR is cool I guess. I'm more excited about the tech, not the games. There is E3 for that.

Just give me more FW updates.

Not sure if we'll see any NEW game announcements at CES though.

Confused... Kaz is speaking on Tuesday 8:30am (as per CES website schedule) Is this another conference/keynote or has there been some rescheduling I'm unaware of?

The console space isn't going to be that heavy, but hopefully we'll get a glimpse of something. I love CES though.

Yes, there are two Sony conferences, a news conference on the 6th and a keynote presentation on the 7th. Seems with two press conferences, Sony is going to say something about video games.
