Anyone experiencing the "Disk Ejecting" Problem ?!

So about a month ago while i was playing Fifa suddenly the disk ejected from the drive and it went back to home screen, i kept trying to put the disk back on but it seemed as if the drive was closed or something, then i kept hearing voices and beebs. Anyway long story short i fixed the issue by removing the glossy part and turning the screw for a while, the system worked fine but then the problem appeared again, i fixed it same way and it that process keeps repeating itself every 2-3 days. Any one having this issue? If so is there any permanent solution for it ?

You got a problem with premature ejeculation? Might need to take it back and swap it...doesn't sound like a reasonable quirk of the system.

I had something similar to this. Do you have the console vertical or horizontal? Doing a bit of research I found vertical can cause this.

Have you tried it horizontal then? Just to see if the problem still happens? Even if you have to move or remove some consoles you will at least get an answer.....

Some people experience this in increased temperatures. Clean your PS4 and put it somewhere it can breathe.

I've had this issue on a couple of occasions...what I've found in particular is that I get the issue the most when I shut down the PS4 directly from a game, instead of 'closing the application', returning to the main menu, and then shutting down the PS4 from the main menu...

when closing the PS4 directly from in-game, the system does shut down, but then it starts back up and spits the disc out---and the disc drive goes into eject only mode. In doing some research online, this is the only fix that I could find (this fix has worked for me each time, but it is not a permanent fix unfortunately)

    1. Manually power off PS4 with front on/off button near disc drive.
    2. Once PS4 is off, unplug power cable from back of console.
    3. Allow 10-12 seconds of cool off and plug power cable back in.
    4. Hold Power Button down on front of console until you hear 2 beeps.
    5. A boot menu screen pops up, choose the option 'rebuild database' (this option will not delete any saves or games on your system)
    6. Once the system rebuilds the database (approx. 2-3 minutes) you should be good to go.

    Hope this helps!

I'm glad to inform everyone that after placing my PS4 horizontally i haven't had this problem. Hopefully it's the solution.

This happened to me yesterday. My PS4 was actually turned off, and then it turned itself on and ejected the disc. I went to put the disc back in, but the PS4 was not having it. It kept making a noise as though it had a disc inside already.

To fix this issue, I booted in to safe mode and rebuilt the database. Problem solved.

I thought I would add my experience with the disk eject issue. My ps4 recently started having the issuea few weeks ago, and I did the first thing that came to mind, check here for a solution. I tried rebuilding the database, d that worked for a couple days then it started doing that again. Rebuilding the database didn't work this time... Then I thought "turn it off, unplug it for 20minutes and plug it back in."that didn't work then I remember people saying it still made noises after it was unplugged. So, I unplugged it, pressed the power button and it beeped, so I pressed the button until it stopped beeping. Plugged it back in and I haven't had the issue again. I figured my story might help others with their issues as well. Still, weird solution lol.

for some reason, i feel like stuffing an unrevealing yet obvious porn dvd case with goldfish snack crackers after removing the dvd and sell it to a gullible teenager.

I'm tossing around the idea of just purchasing all of my games via PSN going forward not even have to worry about the disc issue...definitely a little frustrating tho

The capacitors still hold juice well after the power has been unplugged. The 360 did this and so did the PS3 and PS2.

I've been in there already ( for fun) and i'm not totally impressed with the disc retention mechanism in the case of the system standing up on it's own, particularly if it weren't perfectly level.

Everyone should keep first day machines horizontal IMHO.
If I get back in there i'll post pictures and materials breakdown, but don't count on it happening soon.

My reason was to see if the laser will likely be firmware upgradable to BDXL, but, that's probably a moot point and i didn't find the info to determine that.

From a cooling standpoint, I think it's already been revealed that the PS4 runs cooler horizontally as well.

Huge PIA for me, seems to have gotten worse. Although I've had the eject problem occur while standing it vertical, this is how I keep it now as it happens less often. I have it on my desk and have come to realize that it is sensitive to vibrations and that is triggering the issue for me. With it standing vertical I am having less of an issue.

Don't think this can be fixed in Firmware, but I am unwilling to send my unit in so soon. How does that effect the extended warranty?
