    I was looking at the X1 vs X360 pics (both being 720p) and there are entire objects missing in 360 build with quite inferior lighting.

    Now here's the important question

    Ps4 is pushing 2.25x the pixels with the same 60fps as X1. Ps4 is 50% faster by the most generous hardware metrics, so now I'm wondering how solid the framerate is

    yeah i would not be surprised if the X1 version is missing some more things. we have to remember that its GPU is not that capable either.

    Now on N4G I just read that Thief is "struggling" to reach 900p on Xbone while being 1080p on PS4. And thats a slow paced stealth game running on the older version of the Unreal engine.

    actually i'm still surprised...also with TR and Titanfall.

    i was expecting this with certain multiplats, not pretty much all except sports.

    in one way, X1 should be able to "deliver" these graphics at 1080p, so it's partially the engine, it may partially be also the resource issues on the X1, and the SDK in addition to the hardware differences.

    i knew this in theory but to actually have it played it is definitely surprising.

    theoretically, the engine is keeping these games from being as good as they could be...because it's a cross-gen engine. so while X1 is technically able to deliver these graphics, it would require a custom engine for it to do so...and well of course with a customized engine (from scratch, and a good engine too) would probably show far better graphics than this even.

    meaning, the potential of X1 is far more than this game, so is PS4's. but the "relative" difference in multiplat should not change much.

    still very interesting and surprised though.

    it's like saying, hey there's going to be a huge storm and everything is going to be blown away with it and you have all the facts to back it up...but to actually see it happen, is another thing.

    See above. You waste a lot of CPU overhead by tiling. I dont think there is much left in the tank after tiling 720p, its going to make the gap greater than the 50% would suggest.
