Thinking about getting this TV this week.

    VIZIO - M-Series Razor LED - 60" Class (60" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - 240Hz - Smart - 3D - HDTV

    or

    VIZIO - M-Series - 65" Class (65" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - 240Hz - Smart - 3D - HDTV

I like the 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio

Like my current TV, this one uses theater glasses for 3D.

    4 HDMI ports is perfect.

240Hz is double what my current 3D TV is.

Unfortunately it is a Smart TV, which is a waste of money. But other than that, not sure there is a better deal out there.

that does seem like a decent price given the size and energy ratings, also going by the reviews it sounds like the picture quality makes it worth buying! I noticed a few people moan about sound but that's what surround systems are for

Is there something wrong with your current TV or do you just want to upgrade?

Five or so years ago I would say avoid it but Vizio has come along way.

I upgrade every 2 years. I currently have a 55" LG 3D LED 120hz TV. But now I think I am going to upgrade to the 65" Vizio for $1,700. It is the same TV as in the first post, just 5" larger.

Those are two nice tv's. I personally would go with the 60 inch. Simply because a tv that is that big to me it's a little unnecessary to go much bigger than that unless it's going in a big room with plenty of sitting distance between it. Not to mention it's a pretty big jump in price for that extra 5 inches. Have fun with that one. Lol

Why not get a 4KTV (with 3D) since you have a lot of pocket money to spend.

4K will be completely useless for the next 10 years. If my games will not take advantage of 4K, then I have no use for it.

    What he said.

I was an early adopter of HD. Back when only espn would broadcast one thing in HD. Paid 4000 for that tv and got almost no use out of it.

Why are we upgrading? I've known people with perfectly good sets to upgrade on a whim only to get a worse picture.

I would wait for the Vizio P series to come out. Not much more money for a much better tv.

Not necessarily. This is probably just rumor for hype train, but apparently PS4 might have a video streaming service with 4K content. A handful of movies are being shot in 4K and while I do think it's an incredible waste of good HD space and timely to manage the data, it just looks good. They even have some blu-rays out right now that are mastered in 4K. Ghostbusters is a good example. But I take it you're not a blu-ray collector, so, fair enough then.

Ok, well I went ahead and bought this TV just now. I will pick it up in an hour or so. I will make a review after a few days of breaking it in.

I chose this TV because it uses passive 3D technology. I love passive 3D!!!!!!!!

I would have went with better quality. I barely have anything past regret with the Vizio I bought a couple years ago. Top-o-line Vizio at that. XVT series.

I won't waste money on them again.

I have had issues with all brands personally. The reviews of this TV are all very good. 4.6/5 out of 165 reviews

I also got the TV for $1,599 with an additional 10% off because it was cheaper at Costco.

That discount covered the sales tax lol.

I've read a decent amount on the tv, and it seems to be a really good buy.

Got the TV calibrated and did some testing. I absolutely love the bezel on this TV. I is so damn thin, and looks like a giant cell phone.

The 3D is amazing. Watching 3D on a 240hz TV is so much better looking than a 120hz TV. I believe the 240hz gives you a true 120hz 3D experience. 120hz per eye.

I also really like how I can easily go from watching a Youtube video on my phone, to watching it on my TV with a touch of a button.

I will probably do a full review this week in case anyone is interested in this TV. So far, I have been very impressed.

I'm a bit naive with televisions, is the 240Hz to do with the refresh rate?

Except for the fact that refresh is doubled and everything is much smoother than my 120hz TV. Especially watching in 3D.

    Yeah, marketing at its best.

Remember these modes don't add any actual detail to the video, and you might want to disable them when watching every-day, non-action content. A 120Hz refresh rate can be beneficial for certain situations, but a higher refresh rate should not be considered a good reasons to spend more on an HDTV. For most television and movie watching, you'll probably want to keep the refresh rate set to 60Hz, anyway. Just keep the benefits in mind for sports and games, and don't feel the need to push past 120Hz. Anything higher really is more of a gimmick than a truly useful feature.

This is true ^ If you PC game on your set you will be lucky if it does actual 120fps/hz.
