That's certainly impressive. I wonder what it feels like though, the the brain thinking it's moving forward but having gravity shirt around so suddenly.

    Quite an impressive achievement.

Though, i question the effectiveness of the stunt. When a skateboard of snowboard travels around, its always wanting to travel straight through the loop. A majority of force travels in that one direction forcing it round. The rider just has to adjust his weight accordingly.

A humans legs don't exert force in the same direction. a human pushes 'up' naturally. so at the top, you have gravity and his legs pushing him down (as seen on his exit). so whatever speed he runs at, when he reaches the top of the loop, he's always gunna throw himself toward the ground as he continues running...essentially falling during the second half.

but, i digress. i'm simply reading too much into it

Amazing, but looks so fake on the slow-mo
I trust this is legit, but at the end of the day it IS a commercial, and in fairness even with the mat, on his attempts he takes 2/3 steps on the loop and kind of attempts to backflip to the other half.
Going on what Fiji said his body should be pushing itself towards the ground with the way he is exerting his force, during every single attempt except the final one his feet don't even come close to stepping at 11, 12 or 1 o' clock on that thing.
Not taking anything away from him because it's entirely plausible this actually happened, but I'm a huge skeptic about anything, so!

Damian walters is such a fucking beast. If there ever was a guy that would do this, it would be him.

At the top he would have felt almost weightless and because of that he stumbled at the end much like when you run down a steep hill then reach the bottom.

    I beg to differ

At the top, Gravity, the reactant (normal - i call it reactants for ease with fluids), and tangential force, all travel in one direction. there is no other force, save the resulting momentum, to drive him forward.

im being pedantic, maybe. But i'd argue he's merely falling with style down the second half of the loop

p.s - my physics is rusty. but im sure Centripetal force is gravity(mg), normal force, and velocity....i seem to recall something to do with friction, though im drawing a blank as to how i would use that here :/

For centripetal force to be true, his legs would need to slide along the ground and exert no other force....Newtons 3rd law or something? As it stands, with every step, he is changing the direction he's travelling in.

Isnt that what its liek for the BMX and wood pushers? after the first 1/2 to 3/4 gravity does the rest.

He must have fallen after the loop and then they did the step off the mat afterwards.
