Then take that advice to this game as well.

I just finished playing the first mission and I thought it was actually intense. Seeing someone play the first mission and actually doing it...well, it's 2 totally different animals.

If the first mission is anything to go buy this game is going to be a fun game.

I already did take my own advice and I'm loving this game. I'm actually very far in this game right now. And I'm in a place right now that anybody who has played Thief Deadly Shadows will definitely remember.

I think I would rate this game a solid 7. I am really enjoying this game, as this slow paced style really benefits my tendencies. The game gets even better as you get the ability to upgrade your weapons and such. For me, this game has a ton of replay value as I have replayed the first chapter 7 times trying to collect all of the loot and treasures.

If you are a patient gamer, then this is certainly a game for you to at least try.

Well surprisingly Steam unlocked the game this morning so I managed to get to play it for half an hour before I had to go to work and all I can say it that the game runs buttery smooth. It's also playing exactly how I thought it would although having to double tap spacebar is a pain in the arse in order to swoop, nice mechanic though! On max settings I'm getting about ~93FPS which is fantastic.

Never said it was. In fact this new Thief reminds me of Deadly Shadows. You even revisit a certain place from Deadly Shadows in this game.

all games are now getting dummified. i loved how there wasn't any point to the game lol. all i did was go around and find treasures...wow...that would never work today.

Yeah I'm actually enjoying this game alot. And its certainly not dummified because there are options you can enable to make it super hard and unforgiving if thats your thing.

i mean like...the freedom they used to give you. i will guarantee you that even at hard, it probably spoonfeeds you as far as where to go and what to do. do you have a little monitor telling you what to do next? yes that.

so how do you know what to do next? do you get an order? or do you speak to someone? because in thief 1/2, you just went around and looted. there was nothing else to it. but i can see how that can get boring for some, for me, i felt like i was a real thief.

Yeah you talk to some guys that give you jobs and the story tells you where to go so if you turn off the waypoint you'll have to bring up your map to see where to go. I leave the waypoint on myself though (aka track objective ) and its not intrusive.

you know, i just saw the review footage from gamespot and i have to say, it looks like a true thief title...very similar to the old ones except they added some additional stuff that seem like the natural course of where it should go.

now i'm curious about this game. though i still miss the castles i hope this one has them too.

Yep exactly. It feels like Deadly Shadows (with added stuff) which I really enjoyed so thats why I'm loving this game.

    This review says it all.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...ef-review.html

It's too bad I can't read Italian. I want to know wtf Eurogamer Italy is saying about the game that warrants "One of the best action-stealth titles in years and the first serious contender for the “2014 Game of the Year” contest."

    WTF!!

Aside from the names of a couple of characters, there is very little here to make you feel that you’re playing a Thief game
No way I consider this similar to the old Thief, beyond exactly what they've mentioned.
