Wolfenstein: The New Order is 1080p, 60fps on Xbox One...

Yes, it's another article about Xbox One game resolution, but wait! Come back! This one's all sunshine and roses. Beautiful, high definition sunshine and roses.

The Xbox One version of Wolfenstein: The New Order runs at 1080p and 60 frames a second, a Bethesda rep has told OnlySP. It's "hard-wired" to run at 60 frames a second, in fact, to quote MachineGames creative director Jens Matthies (thanks, Gamer Horizon). Hurrah!

Let's all celebrate by watching this gameplay trailer from last week. If you couldn't give a rat's buttock for the plot, I recommend skipping to about a minute and half in. That's when most of the booms and bangs happen. Oh yes, and there's a chainsaw.
    Naitive or up-scaled though?

Its hardwired to run at 60 frames per seconds, lol what the hell does that mean? The graphics scale down instead of the frame rate? Sounds a bit nonsensical.

People actually use that term programing? Reminds me of when MS claimed DRM being "hard wired" in the Xb. To me that suggests that its embedded in the hw.

So they got it to match the PS4 version in resolution and FPS. Wonder what kind of graphical concessions they had to make on the Xbone version to do that?

by that they meant, we are stubborn and won't change $#@!...but alright, we'll change that $#@! if you're that angry...sheesh.

they don't necessarily need to if the game isn't trying to achieve more than what the X1 is capable of within that development.

the problem they run into there is that it's likely not going to be competing with the better-looking games out in the market by the time it comes out.

Maybe because they are using the same engine used for Rage last gen. id tech 5? Pretty sure Rage ran at 1080p/60fps as well. Doesn't sound like they are pushing the hardware on either system to me. if that is the case......nope, not gonna buy it.

Both, game will most likely use dynamically sized framebuffer. (Just like Rage.)
The game also runs 60fps on ps360 so I'm quite sure that it will be native most of the time on new consoles.

id software and their hard locked 60FPS $#@!. ITs a pain in the ass when not using vsync and also when using 120Hz monitor.
Was a pin in Quake 4 and in Rage and will be a pain in this.

PC? I played Castle Wolfenstein on my Commodore 64 along with its sequel, then of course Wolfenstein 3D by ID on the PC and every one since, with the exception Enemy Territory and the one they released on mobile.

well i should keep my mouth shut then lol. had i been born here, i may have a more interesting gaming background beyond '97.

we grew up with atari 2600 then arcades (and very small and weird PC mini-games...e.g. DOS-based) up until i came here.

I dabbled with enemy territory in the early days on my Pentium 4 simply because it was free. Took me about an hour to download it back then though. (LOL I just downloaded it now and it took literally 40 seconds) Also about a year ago I had a enemy territory server running.
