    Huh? Not sure what you are saying here. EA/MS made the deal for Titanfall, not the devs.

    Seems that it was.
    It looks like titans weren't always meant to fall for Xbox One.

    According to an Eurogamer interview with Richard Baker, the lead engineer with Respawn Entertainment, Titanfall was initially conceived to be a PC exclusive. Of course, Titanfall is a significant weapon for Microsoft and Xbox One in the next-gen console wars. Microsoft even created a Titanfall bundle to help spur system sales.

    so basically they lied to us when they stated that they were thinking about the PS3/PS4 but due to teh powerz of teh cloud, they chose the X1 lol.

    the BS about all of this is, how much resources are they freeing up anyway? they don't even go into that...in real terms, what exactly is it saving them? AI? didn't think AI was a big deal and why in the world would the dumb bots in Titanfall want so much processing power? does any of this matter when TF isn't even doing anything that impressive in just about any way? are those mechs never been seen before? not possible on other platforms? that's where i find all of that to be BS.

    i totally understand how the availability of servers can be helpful to them and being cheaper but really, how much of that is really a big deal. i haven't seen any developer run into server issues yet on next-gen games.

    Yeah but only one has a mythical beast called The Cloud! It sounds so much better than just saying dedicated servers. Buzz Word is all it is.

    I'm going to make a new pong game and say that the AI was being done on the cloud and thus why pong cannot be done without the power of Xbox One's cloud. someone help me make this possible. i'm gonna do it.

    Dedicated servers are dedicated servers, whether they are run in the cloud or at your house, well thats up to you.

    Titanfall take advantage of the "Microsoft cloud", which is simply a bunch of Azure servers running all over the world and synching with each other, to run it on Xbox One, 360 and PC, they are all using "the power of the cloud".

    Frankly dedicated servs arent to be sniffed at, but there isnt anything magic about them.

    And yes that means the 360 uses the power of the cloud as well. Welcome to last gen $#@!es!

    No but if I told you that to make your pong use the cloud, your going to have to set up 6000 $5000 server, then you are going to have to stump up with 3million dollars, and also service, house and maintain those servers yourself.     no you don't. that's why we pay for PS+.

    I won't deny that dedicated servers are a great thing to have but all that cloud talk was just a way to church them up. They have a ton of dedicated servers and good on them for that. But I wish they would stop trying to make them seem like it's some revolutionary tech.

    Sony aren't about to give you serves. Any games with dedicated servers have dedicated servers paid for by the publisher, other than that its peer to peer.

    Maybe you want to gather stats, or even match make people from other servers?

    Just for the record, even Call of Duty ghosts uses "teh powerz of the cloud", Xbox One is the only version with true dedicated servers.
    All other versions peer to peer or "may" get a server.

    you couldn't be more wrong. the dedicated servers you speak of where you have control over them? they still cost extra money. PS4 users get dedicated server support in games that X1 does as well. there's no difference there.
