Thats a good idea because the other ones are great as well but just so you know it's not necessary because it's not a continuous story. You could pick this one up and not be lost at all. I recommend it though simply because they were good.

    7 for me.

While the game looks brilliant, there hasn't been much changed from the past games; regarding game design. AI is lacking. Story is, well for the lack of a better word, stale.

Yeah, no need to play the old ones FIRST. Don't you have them on your PS+ account for free anyway? Look there first. But, they are Epic too. I'd play the new one NOW, get THAT fresh experience there first.
The first 2 should still be playable after. Sucker Punch has some real out of the box thinkers.

I can't rate it yet as I'm busy doing other things, but from the little bit I played, Graphics are a 10, Gameplay seemed a 10 (if the last one was an . Very responsive and the nuances of the movement physics are nice.

How are infamous 1 and 2 "hidden" gems? That franchise is like one of the premiere ones for Sony and PS.

I'll end up playing it for sure! Might as well play backlog while saving $ haha. Just bought a Galaxy Tab 3, Chromecast, new keyboard & mouse sooo in penny pinching mode for the time being. Especially when I'd really like to grab a Vita & Playstation HDTV before fall.

Yeah, no need to play the old ones FIRST. Don't you have them on your PS+ account for free anyway? Look there first.
I have only had my PSN account for a month maybe now. Just getting back into console gaming after buying the PS4 at launch. Put a ton of time into Warthunder & Warframe. Had a launch Ps3 that died in 2008ish & I just got it repaired. So I'm enjoying my long lost PS3 right now, particularly GTA 4 & 5 in addition to other bargain values mentioned like Infamous games, Gran Turismo 5/6, Last of us, Uncharted series, GOW remaster etc. (any suggestions welcome too).

Launch games for me on the 4 will be in particular online titles like Planetside 2, Destiny, Drive Club etc. Most likely titles like Watch Dogs, The Order & FF15 for various reasons.

Also will buy a lot of the more unique smaller games from indie studios like Rust, Rime, Minecraft(which I never played on PC), Fez, Trials Fusion. To each his own!

Only problem I saw with this Infamous while watching the videos was that the jumping animation, is quite unnatural. For someone who added 7+ inches of vertical jump, someone of his size he should be going off one leg powerfully using his arms for momentum. That double gather while flailing his arms ever so slightly is a bit concerning.

After playing it for like 4 hours, I give it a 9.

I think it's a really well done game. Visuals, gameplay...etc everything is great.

really no point in buying the first two infamous games before playing this new one. Just go on youtube and get the story, that's really all and even then, it's not really needed.

I would rate mid 80s. Seems bit too much towards 9s, but I guess can be expected since many are fans of franchise and sony exclusives.

Lets boil it down simple. .. if you are a gamer who mostly plays shooters like bf or cod and not really in to stories in a game this is not for you. .... it would be like a rpg gamers playing cod and faulting it for $#@!y writing

1st playthrough was as Evil, and my goodness it was fun.
2nd playthrough as Hero, was somehow even more enjoyable! (although i think it was because of expert mode, the game is much better on expert imo)
Graphically it was as good as i expected at first. But later in the game, there were moments of all out chaos and i was just wide eyed at how smooth and crisp this game is. Even on the 2nd playthrough where i knew what was coming, i was still just in awe.
Story wise it was better than expected, the characters and voice acting were just.. well, they were just fantastic!

I felt the pacing was great, you never really got a chance to get bored of your powers, plenty of side stuff to do but not to the point of overwhelming you. Just enough to casually do as you explored and went about the story.

It's short, but damn was it one hell of a ride! (And a fairly easy platinum)

I gave it 10. Because F* me, a thrill ride from start (almost) to finish.

After a few hours I rate it between 7-8 as it seems to have all the usual problems in GTA clone sandbox genre.

Thanks for the info everyone. This is seems to be a promising game for $60. Even better when it's on sale. The fact that Metacritic rates it 80 is one thing (not bad at all) it's another promising thing that the user score on Metacritic is 8.0 too.

Plus the PS enthusiast on PSN rates it a 9 overall.... I think I will go pick this one up.

GTA wasn't the first sandbox game...or are you saying it has in particular parts where it cloned GTA specifically?

    B/c I'm not sure I see that.
