Sony wanted a PlayStation Vita version of Titanfall.

Sony originally pushed for a PlayStation Vita version of the now-PC and Xbox 360/One exclusive Titanfall.

Developer Respawn reached out to Sony before Titanfall's exclusivity agreement with Microsoft was signed to discuss PlayStation 4 target specs, but was told the platform holder wasn't ready to divulge the details.
Sony suggested a PlayStation Vita version instead, and offered to help make it.

The new details come from Titanfall's Final Hours App which has just been released for iPad, Windows Surface and on PC/Mac via Origin, excerpts from which have been posted online (thanks, Gamespot).

I'm more happy about the fact Sony is actually trying to get 3rd party AAA content, hopefully they have other unannounced stuff from 3rd party devs and prove me wrong about giving up on it. Hoping for (but not expecting) a decent showing from Vita this E3.

They should suggest a GTA game for the PS Vita. It would sell more units.
Thanks to Kwes for the avatar and Sylar for the signature!

That would have been terrible...the PSVita barely does well with 4 on 4 online matches. I'm really shocked honestly...I remember playing Socom:FTB1&2 for the PSP and that was 8vs8 and the online was flawless practically.

Jon Shiring of Respawn in a Tweet to Eurogamer:

@eurogamer that is very much not the case. Titanfall didn't even exist back when we were asking for ps4 info, as the final hours app shows.
