it's not "far" more important but i do agree that it's relatively more important, by not far though.

MS are going to the extremes to make sure titanfall reaches a certain amount sold. There's no telling how many bundles they made giving the game away for free and then the game was discounted like a week after release. "It has strong legs" Those sales are coming from discounted bundles or stand alone copies found for $50 or less.

It's to the point that I don't consider it a "major title" on the same level of other games that won tons of awards. GTA5;TLOU;Skyrim. Those games sold great on their own. They didn't need to be bundled nor discounted to sell their millions. Demand for the xbone must have been horrible before they went to the extremes.

Destiny is going to be EVERYTHING that EA and MS hoped titanfall would be

Not saying that it isn't fair. It changes nothing on my opinion of it holding up to other great titles.

Easy Mode wins are not really wins. In this information age, everyone knows the score.

well, revenues are the real wins. we know that TF is going to be a huge series and it has far more potential than the Infamous series and heck, just about any exclusive shooter on the PS4. but i think TF will go multiplat. or maybe not, maybe MS will buy it off, it would be smart.

point is, they are doing everything they can to win and i could only wish Sony did it last generation when they needed it. that's why i think it's fair in the overall scheme of things.

Oh come on now lets be realistic here. TLoU sold 6 million on the PS3 which had an install base of 70+ million consoles at the time. How u gonna compare that to Titanfall not being able to sell 6 million when the XB1 dont even have a install base of 5 million yet?

PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

^well that comes into play, doesn't it? that's why we were discussing that it's important throughout the generation for a console maker to keep their platform relevant.

so thank you, i didn't think about that, that is definitely a negative in putting out a game in the beginning but yes, you still need games in the beginning to keep a healthy flow.

theres no revenue when you give the game away for free.

True, but TLOU had a lot more competition as well. Isn't like there are a ton of games on the shelf for X1. By the time TLOU came around, the PS3 had a huge library of games to choose from.

edit: but your point is still a good one
