I would think a higher fps would be needed for a racing game.

But someone said it's F2P...so why would I complain.

Maybe for a sim racer like GT. Not so much for this type of racer imo.

It says each club is made up of six people so two clubs can go at it 6 vs 6. So we'd need sub-clubs in here to compete.

Arcade racer with the focus on detail rather than framerate...don't think it could stretch to 1080p/60fps this early. Still, it looks gorgeous. If they lock it down tight to 30fps, i'm sure it will be fine.

Is it to early to be impressed with the dusk/night driving and at the same time scared because I don't have the best night vision?

I've always been a big believer in 60fps but it can work.

I didn't buy NFS rivals because it was 30 fps, my friend brought it over and I love this game now. I'm borrowing it right now.

Was this game ever supposed to be 60FPS? I don't think that will bother most people, but not having the dynamic day/night cycle is sort of a bummer. I still don't see why it was delayed so long though.

If you don't understand the importance of 60fps to a racing game then you don't understand racers at all. Less graphical fidelity at 60fps is much more preferable to nice pretty pictures when everything is stationary @ 30 fps.

Might be only me but the only time I ever notice framerate is when it dips. If it's locked, I don't see the difference between 30/60fps. Like I said, must be only me, more active gamers must see a huge difference.

Dynamic Day/night cycle missing? Don't care either (as long as there is the option to play day or night)

The most important things to me in racers, any type of racers, are stable/smooth (locked) framerates and while not the most important, weather effects.

I totally agree. Game looks amazing. As for FPS I never see the difference between 30/60fps either tbh. Just more elitist horsecrap imo. As long as the 30fps is solid then I'm good to go.

Not everyone can see it. That's fine and I accept that. I, for example, don't see screen tearing that easily - i have to purposefully look for it while others can't ignore it.

However, the 60Hz has another benefit in racers in how many times a second the input is being sampled, and in the case of a sim, how many times a second they are assessing the physics of what you are applying through your input on the car. This is a big difference.

Yeah its not like its a sim like the GT series or anything. Definitley looks like it copes. I can think of alot worse things. lol I'm excited for this game too. And October seems so far away right now but at least we have a release date now.

I agree that 60fps is greatly superior to 30fps and even more so in a racing game, the road always annoys me in 30fps games as it looks jerky and I know it's small but I find that off putting.

But it is what it is. Those that like racing games should still like it.

I can see a huge difference. Not sure if you've been seeing the Project Cars videos I've been doing but I went from recording at 30 FPS to 60 FPS. The recording framerate limits the output of the game and 30 FPS was instantly like a slide show. Even 60 FPS to me is a little jerky as when I do race I race with 3 screens, and the 2 screens on the side show the slide show effect when I'm concentrating mostly on the middle screen (similar to the old CRT effect except obviously there's no flicker, just erratic movement). When I'm not recording however I always try and play my games as close to 120 FPS as possible, I get zero screen tearing and everything is liquid smooth, plus the response I get back in racing games is massive. The sense of speed also flies up too. It honestly isn't elitist rubbish, it honestly has a huge benefit.

Either way I'm still getting this game.

Exactly, it's not about being elitist as you said, it's probably the genre of game that benefits most from the 60fps (or more if you're lucky like you are with your set up).

I also will still get DriveClub, but I'm disappointed about the fps for sure!
