Sunset TV, a weekly dose of Overdrive news, footage, and answered fan questions.

In an effort to keep fans up-to-date with upcoming Xbox One-exclusive Sunset Overdrive, developer Insomniac Games has launched a weekly video program called "Sunset TV." The first episode went live yesterday and it contains a few new details about the game. First, though you may have noticed some cars in the recently released Sunset Overdrive gameplay trailer, you will not be able to drive these vehicles.

"You cannot drive cars in Sunset Overdrive, mainly because you're the only vehicle you need. All these other cars, all that other business, that would just slow you down," Insomniac Games community manager Brandon Winfrey says.

The video also touches on Sunset Overdrive's traversal system, which sees players quickly moving through the city by bouncing on cars, attaching to power lines, and running on walls.

"One thing we really wanted to do in Sunset Overdrive is make the traversal as active as possible," Winfrey says. "So what we did was build the city in a way that the fastest way to get places was to actually combo your movement options."

He went on to say that Sunset Overdrive's world has also been designed with verticality in mind, and that players will be rewarded for utilizing the high-up traversal options.

Next week's episode of Sunset TV will focus on the game's "Amp" system. These are special modifiers you can apply to your weapons and character.

Sunset Overdrive launches this fall exclusively for Xbox One.

I guess going with MS was the best thing they ever did for themselves. I bet this is MS funded.

I'm sure it is seeing as how MS is the publisher.

they are definitely getting a lot of attention with MS. MS doesn't have to manage big projects of games so it makes sense that they would go out of their way to make sure they help out.

MS has always marketed their games way better than Sony and MS will aggressively market this game too. So Insomniac has made a good choice.

I don't see how the coverage they are getting now is different than before, at-least outside of this forum [XONE owners are definitely paying more attention to Insomniac and their game; which unfortunately, no PS fan ever did here.)

They've done fun videos such as this before to talk about their games (well, not episodic I should say.)

Insomniac had the same freedom before development wise (which is part of why they take so much pride in being independent - they also choose their projects and have the right to turn down any they don't want to take).

Their recent projects have been games they wanted to make and they approached publishers to see if they would fund them.

What is different is the reception they are getting towards their game (well, mostly on this forum, as other sites have been covering it about the same as they usually do with other games.)

I'm looking forward to the game....and if it is as fun as it looks Insomniac's got a good game in their hands! I would like them to revisit Resistance at some point though! Since this game does not seem to be very focused around story.

I loved how they told the story in the first Resistance game. That was great.

Not enough to make me buy a Xbox One, but I'll admit given who they are making fun of that's one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.
