....when they say celebrity fans, what do they mean? Do they mean fans that have become famous using youtube or do they actually mean celebrity who also happen to be fans?
Regardless, why would anyone care about that? lol

it's for brand image. Xbox is seen as a hip console.
right now, i feel like that PS4 is completely driven by gamers but probably not many of the casual gamers (that were once jocks in high school). I'm sure some of the nerdy Xbox gamers did defect to Sony and most of Xbox's issue is that people just aren't jumping in.
that's why some believe that Xbox will still beat PS4 in the US. because theoretically, both consoles should not have touched the mainstream yet. PS4 (and X1 for that matter) sales will slow down once the gamer segment is saturated. meaning, hardcore gamers that want the best games, best consoles, latest tech. you may include some PC gamers in that as well.
point being, X1 sales are misleading because 1) this is a shodown between gamers, not casuals yet. 2) X1 is pretty much ****ing itself over, has been so far and MS is now trying to fix some of these issues.
had they started with what changes they have brought now and well, never had mentioned anything about DRM/used sales (which can't be undone imo) then they may not have seen so much defeat. they still would not have outsold the PS4 (especially WW) but they may have been neck-to-neck in UK and US. you know, similar to 360 vs PS3, but PS4 definitely improved quite a lot from the PS3 so there's that.
but yes, it's still possible that X1 might take over in US. though the whole hipster thing is a totally different thing, i suppose i went a little off discussion there. it's just brand image. doesn't matter if those hipsters end up buying a PS4 because well, PS4 is kind of like an Xbox now...but the brand image still says that Xbox consoles are for the hipsters and the cool.
I was really hoping for some Usher.

Where is the event discussing the hidden power of the cloud?
Sony definitely won't pay anywhere near that amount, $50m represents enough to fund over 100 indie games for PSplus - basically enough for the next 5 years. Or a mix of 2 or 3 low budget 1st parties like tearaway, tokyo jungle, sly cooper 4 with enough spare to fund 40 exclusive indies. Those timed exclusives will come to PS4 anyway so for them it's win win.
