    PS4/PS Vita Ultimate Player bundle

One of Sony's E3 2014 surprises may have just been spoiled. The often-leaky Amazon France has posted aproduct page (via IGN) for a special PlayStation 4/PlayStation Vita "Ultimate Player Edition" bundle. It's listed for €579, or about $790. According to the listing, it will go on sale July 4.We were not able to find the same product page on Amazon's North American website. In Europe, the PS4 currently sells for €399.99 ($540) and the PlayStation Vita costs €179.99 ($245), meaning the bundle isn't offering much in the way of savings. However, it also could include some pack-in goodies, and we've reached out to Sony for comment. Sucker Punch's PS4-exclusive action game Infamous: Second Son is shown on the box.
Separately, Twitter user Wario64 has obtained a scan of next week's Best Buy advertisement, which shows a $560 PS4/PS Vita bundle that includes both systems and a copy of Borderlands 2 for PS Vita.
In February, PlayStation hardware marketing executive John Koller said Sony had "no firm plans" to offer a PS4/PS Vita bundle, though he admitted that "it's an interesting proposition."
Sony's E3 2014 press conference takes place Monday, June 9 starting at 6 p.m. PDT. GameSpot will host a livestream of the event, as well as video interview and analysis features immediately following the presentation.

This is brilliant. Hope this comes to NZ. I know a few people holding off a PS4 that also want a VITA for such a bundle to exist.

Can't believe they ******* did it, if true. SONY is on flippin fire right now, with out a single doubt PS4 + PSV works equally as well as WiiU and can work over internet.

If SONY is willing to take a hit to support Vita, MS should have done the same for kinect.

I really cant say I know of anyone who wants a Vita. But a bundle is a bundle, always value for money (I assume).
    Hardly a show stopper though.

People own a smart phone, they don't know they want a Vita till they play a real honest challanging game with buttons on the go. With PS+ and Cross-Buy I see little wrong here.

Look at all of these people trying to get the PSV and PS4's, they'll even attack Helms Deep for it! Their cries of "AAAARGH I WANT" sets off the charge, unfortunately they can't hold them back, they really do want this bundle!

Meh, my son owns a PSP, he does not want a PS Vita (i have offered), he wants a new Android phone for his birthday.

We all know the vita isn't exactly setting thee world on fire. I think the horse has bolted on handheld for anything other than younger generation when you don't want to give them a phone.

For the record we have 2 DSi's a PSP and 3DS in our house.
Only the 3DS gets played by our youngest (8 )
On the other hand my middle child would die if something happened to her ipod touch (12).

There's no point in going anecdote vs anecdote. Especially when one is never/will be/or was interested in particular devices in the first place.

You are correct, Vita sales do enough of the talking.
    I personally wouldn't mind one.

Great idea. I remember there was some speculation a while ago that this bundle would be available at launch.

    Absolutely. ANd it's a shame/

Main point, not enoguh 'perceived games'. Or rather, unique games (e.g. Tearaway, Killzone - games made for the VITA). Cos there's plenty of games for it regardless of them existing elsewhere..

I'm not a big fan of gaming on smart phones or tablets, some games work well, but a lot really suck. It's one thing to play Bejeweled or Angry Birds, it's another to try play a fast flying game or a complex fighting game. Virtual joysticks are the worst thing on touchscreen platforms. I mostly got a Vita because I'm so disappointed with more complicated games on my iPad. Being able to play something like Super Stardust on the go is a pretty good argument that a Vita is a much better gaming machine than your phone is. The problem is the price and having to carry a second device.

If Sony had put a phone in the thing, and a better battery...

Yeah I don't know what it is, maybe its just the "coolness" of it. I still prefer controls over touch, and my iphone is relegated to candy crush type games.

I've been very close to buying a PS4 lately, but I've been holding off until E3, just in case something like this happens. It all just matter on the price point/what's involved. I certainly want the Vita, but I don't want it enough to buy it at it's current price. Put together a decent bundle and a good price though, and I'll be happy. Otherwise, I'll just buy the PS4 by itself. Personally, ideal bundle for me would be to just throw the Vita and PS4 together, and include a PS+ card or something. I've rarely seen bundles include games that I want upon buying the console (probably my fault for usually adopting a new system within the first two years of its life).

Yeah I'm defo a controls over touch guy. Dont mind touch, but maybe that's why I love the VITA, good symbiosis of the two.

Yeah....the touch controls were awesome in Tearaway. But most games use the touch as a convenience (saving, acknowledging prompts and stuff) rather gearing a game around it. Not at all like smartphone touch games. Good symbiosis, like you said.

I don't know why there aren't any RTS games on the Vita, seeing as a console has never been good for RTS games, the Vita is perfect because of the touch controls. I've been playing games like Anomoly, Dune II, and various others on Tablet (including streaming RTS games from Steam) and it works perfectly for the tablet - more so than a mouse I might add.

Like right now, I'm on VITA right now playing second son lying on my bed while typing this on laptop and watching orange is the new black. (preparing for the new season)

I wish it was available at launch, but that is cool. I just will get a Vita on the side at some time. I think this bundle is really cool though.
