PC drivers for Xbox One controller

    Nice.

    http://majornelson.com/2014/06/05/pc...available-now/

Beginning today, new PC drivers for the Xbox One controller will be available for download, offering PC gamers a better way to play using the Xbox One controller. We’re planning to release the drivers as part of a Windows update in the near future; however, today, I am happy to offer early access to our dedicated PC gamers on MajorNelson.com. We know our fans have wanted PC compatibility, and we know they wanted to be able to use the Xbox One controller with the same games and applications they have been playing with using the Xbox 360 controller. We can’t wait for them to play their favorite PC games with what we consider the best controller ever made and we’re excited for fans to experience the improved D-pad, redesigned battery compartment, new comfortable design and offset analog sticks. The new PC drivers will enable the Xbox One controller to be used with any game that featured gamepad support for the Xbox 360 controller. Simply download the drivers, connect your Xbox One controller to your computer through a micro USB cable and you’ll be gaming in no time.
We look forward to sharing more about the amazing lineup of games coming to Xbox during our Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing, Xbox: Game On, which will take place Monday, June 9 beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET / 9:30 a.m. PDT.

I don't have one, but if my current 360 pad ever breaks it's nice to know I can upgrade to one of these.

They haven't said how it will connect. There isn't a wired version is there? And I doubt the wireless receiver I use for my 360 pad won't support it?

The drivers are awesome. I have tested many games on my PC, and I love how I do not need to adjust any settings to get the XB1 controller to work. Just plug and play.

The controller also works with Hyperspin without any configurations.

    Tested the following games.

    Watch_Dogs
    Tomb Raider
    Mortal Kombat
    Bioshock: Infinite
    Injustice: Gods Among Us
    Battlefield 4
    Street Fighter X Tekken

Yeah I expect it'll be just the the 360 pad. I like how it gives button prompts too

Maybe I'm stupid, but what is hyper spin?

I expect eventually they will off the download automatically from windows update, so all you need to do is plug it in and it does it.

Might get one now. I do need one for some games, BF4 would be good for the choppers, I have been using my saitek (now madkatz I think) p880 which works fine but it only has 2 shoulder buttons.

With the new pad, no. But my friend played it with the old 360 pad for a whole with no problems. I'd assume it would work just the same.

Skyrim is the only game not working with the XB1 controller so far. For me anyways.

Ah that's annoying. Would've assumed it would've noticed it just like the 360 pad. Nothing in settings? Or do you have to configure it all manually?

You might be able to do something with the config files. Many games do not directly support controllers but you can force the issue using config files and console commands since it is already built into the engine.
