    AMAZING BREAKING NEWS: Uncharted 4 E3 trailer is IN GAME, 1080P @ 60fps

    "They (Naughty Dog’s Studio Coordinator Rodney Reece and Lead FX Artist Keith Guerrette) confirmed to us that the Uncharted 4 trailer showcased during Sony’s E3 2014 press conference was a part of an actual level in game. Secondly, they also confirmed that the entire trailer was running in real time on the PlayStation 4 and it was all in-engine."

    I don't think anyone doubts that it's "in-engine", but Naughty Dog's cut-scenes usually look a bit better than the gameplay.

    That's what I'm wondering about. The shadows and character models in the previous games, during cutscenes, were higher quality because they could be afforded. In-game when the player is fighting AI and moving around, and the camera is pulled further back, it's not really necessary so the models are slightly lower quality. There's little point in wasting the system resources there.

    The environment will definitely look like this though, which is really impressive.

    That is usually true of any game. Even so, Naughty Dog's gameplay always looks awesome as well. Looking forward to seeing more.

    If I'm not mistaken, they're talking about not using the method that they used last gen for their cutscenes. They used multiple ps3s to render their cutscenes. That's why they're being direct with saying that it's realtime using one ps4. Judging by the order 1886 and how it changes from cutscene to ingame, I don't think anyone here should have too much doubt. ND has a way bigger team than Ready at dawn.

    I don't know. Most games' cutscenes seem to look the same as the actual gameplay. Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War, Demons/Dark souls, Gears of War, Halo, Borderlands 1 & 2, Assassins Creed, etc.

    The only games that quickly come to mind that do enhance their cutscenes is the Uncharted series and Alan Wake. Uncharted was going for that 'movie in a game' feel so naturally they did whatever they could to make everything look as good as possible, and Alan Wake played itself as a television series. Kinda interesting.

    If that is the case then these may actually be real-time to conserve on disc space (as the data for the level already exists). Though video cutscenes always have the benefit of not needing to be loaded. Doesn't really matter either way.

    I think.....should have a knock on effect of taking up less space on the disc. Instead of playing back a 1080p high quality video, all they would need to do is run animation and sound data which takes a lot less space, but more intensive to run. They wouldn't be able to use it to hide loading screens.

    From what I have seen the Order does it well enough so why can't ND and this! Can't wait to actually see some gameplay footage from it though to see if what they are saying is true!
