Didn't they say during the E3 conference that a part of the beta will be figuring out what kind of prices people are comfortable paying?

I wouldn't consider any reported prices in the beta as final.

That 29.99/90 day sub for saints row is ridiculous. That should be a buy and add to library price. I can go to the store and buy the game for $15....

PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

$5 for 7 days seems alright and if the game is good enough, people will probably rent it a few times just for the story.

Let's wait and see the actual announced prices before wishing hell and damnation on Sony. I suspect at the moment they are trying to find the right price point which works for all sides.

Onlive is 6.95 per month and you can play any of their games as much as you like.
Or you can do their "cloudlift" thing which confuses me slightly.

yeah, but onlive's business model isn't something Sony is going to emulate. Not like onlive is rolling in dough.

Sony does plan to actually, it wants a netflix style plan though chances are they just haven't finished negotiating it with the publishers

Yeah in an interview they did allude to exploring a subscription model, but not for release I think.

I would imagine Sony is also a bit worried about cannibalizing their own market. They still want people to buy new games rather than just wait for a cheaper rental service down the road, so I expect there'll be all kinds of tiers based on how new or how popular a game is. The more new and hot a game is the more it will cost. But I think they either need to offer a blanket subscription or allow people to basically buy access to a game for the entire duration of the PS Now service. Maybe another thing they need to consider is letting you register the games you actually own and use PS Now to play them on other devices as part of the PSN+ package.

    (if this is correct)

    Well....it was a good idea.

Leave it to someone else (publishers) to $#@! up your (sony) vision.

Cool.....hope they can make it work. Onlive hasn't done that well with it. But then again.....it targets PC users who will likely just use Steam so maybe that is a bad comparison.

My complaint with PS Now is if I get up to grab a snack or go to the restroom, if im good "too long" it backs out due to inactivity and I lose all my progress unless the game autosaves frequently.

I fixed lag on my end by giving my PS4 a static ip and forward ports.

Also sped up my PS4 psn connection.

For some reason, everybody thinks these prices are final and calling playstation now a failure already.
