Sony can't keep up with demand for the Vita in North America

    http://www.vg247.com/2014/07/02/vita...north-america/

Today in headlines we’re surprised but pleased to be writing, the Vita is in such high demand at the moment that Sony’s having trouble keeping enough stock on hand. The Vita is notable absent from store shelves and online sellers in North America, according to Polygon – especially the Borderlands 2 bundle, which only released in May.
A Sony spokesperson said the problem is increased demand, not diminished supply.
“We’re seeing healthy consumer demand for PS Vita globally, particularly in markets like Japan,” the representative said.
“The U.S. launch of the slimmer and lighter PS Vita has generated strong interest among gamers, and we’re working to replenish supply here to ensure continued momentum leading into the holidays.”
Well. Good problems, eh? Here’s hoping Sony can get its act together and launch the promised PS4 and Vita bundle; Remote Play really has a chance to turn the handheld’s fortunes around for good.
The PS4 has also been in short supply, for similar reasons.

The vita really deserves the love. Sony's portables in general do. I hope that will reflect in software sales and development.

Finally some good yet bad news for Vita in somewhere other than Japan

It is such a great little system and so undervalued, I mainly brought mine for remote play but love playing it's own games on it as well!

Somewhere I'm hoping that, when they realise the Vita still gets the deserved attention (for being an amazing device) that they would get some more higher quality games besides all the indie-stuff. I'm not a fan of Indie-games, not at all, bought the Vita as I expected it to be a PSP-like device, but they disappointed me so far with all the HD remakes and all the indie games...

There once was a man named Sidney, he used to collect shells on the beach. everything was going well for him. untill he stopped and took a look, he had a glance and a stare and realised he what he was reading.

Was having a look in afew of my local outlets today, is the new slim model with 16GB card and 8 game mega pack (PSP and Vita game downloads) for £144.99 a good price? Unsure how much the new slim retails for on it's own.

Wasn't really all that bothered by the release of the slim but having a feel and being able to see the LCD screen in the flesh rather than afew pics on the net comparing it with the OLED got me thinking... And tempted!

Yeah that's an amazing price. You could easily sell that for a profit if you didn't really want it.

Hopefully playasia will have the PDP trigger grip in stock for the slim as I couldn't be without that on the phat.

I think Vita TV will be huge over here in the UK and hopefully will push the sales of the Vita up! Everyone I know who has a Vita loves it and I am so glad I took the plunge and brought one in the end, it deserves so much more credit than it gets! I started to download and watch The Walking Dead last night from the beginning and it's not bad to watch programs like that on it either!

Just curious, but what makes you think that?

I have a feeling PS TV will do very well in the US, UK, and other western countries if it is marketed correctly. If you think about it, you are getting a $100 console with a pretty good library of games but also the other services that stuff like Amazon and Roku offer such as Netflix. If PS Now takes off (big if) then PS TV could very well be the flagship product for it. But then again......I'm a bit of an optimist.

I dunno, I see it being another Wonderbook (half a mil or so) then being forgotten a year later.

I reckon it could either be a hit or a miss Vita TV.
