How long does take to update the bios?

There is a new Bios update and my motherboard is Bio Star Tpower x79. I have the Tpower online update and after clicking on update online and received the bio update. I run it and nothing happens and I read in the manaual it says I should get the message saying reboot the PC. But nothing happens and I waited over 1 hour. Any idea why or it takes time?

It should only take about a minute. Be careful when updating your BIOS, if something crashes during the update you could brick your motherboard.

I first brought the manual and read it. Its so simple it shows and after as I said I clicked on the Tpower online update and received the update file. I see the black window secreen opens fast and nothing happen nor the message appear to reboot the PC. I think I will avoid it and that is all.

If you computer is working fine then no need to update the BIOS, especially if you don't know exactly what you are doing.
Normally BIOS updates are only needed to add support for new CPUs. and occasionally fix bug.
