Bungie wipes beta characters and clears vaults

The right decision in my book. Stroll on the 9th!

I wasn't overly attached to my character so I'm all good with this. Looking forward to release.

They should have let people keep their characters. Only level 9 but people put a load of time in.

I guess it stops people being overpowered compared to those who didn't get to play the beta!

Doesn't bother me at all that I can't keep my characters. I was going to start from scratch anyway when the full game is released. And I will probably create one character of each class, just as I did with the beta. I'm looking forward to spend a lot of time with this game.

Standard procedure to wipe characters or saves from betas, although they should've said straight off this was happening to avoid some unhappy customers.

Things change so much from even Beta to Release that it can cause the game to actually stop functioning at times unless data is wiped (has happened on the game I'm working on several times). Unfortunately it's just one of those things. Once released though there is so much testing that needs to go on to not have a wipe and it's quite scary.

A wipe in my opinions was the best decision.
