Really heartbreaking. Everyone that met him said he was such a sweet man. But behind that sweetness was internal anguish. He brought many laughs to my childhood. RIP

I just heard this on the news. This is really really sad to hear. I expect to see a statue of him up in Hollywood or some sort of memorial for him there.

Heard it last night just before I was heading to bed. I'm in complete shock, it's as if a significant part of my childhood's gone to rest, too. Moscow on the Hudson, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, Good Will Hunting, Jumanji, Aladdin, FernGully, Good Morning, Vietnam, Toys, among so many others. He made us think, he made us cry, but most importantly he made us laugh. Hilarity & tragedy are the oldest of brothers, sadly.

    RIP, Robin. Thanks for everything.

This has been a really sucky year for deaths of some of my favourite actors/comedians, to name a couple, Bob Hoskins, Rik Mayall and now Robin Williams.

I think this one has hit me the most though, so many memories of his films throughout my life.

    RIP Robin Williams.

Yeah I hope so too, I've dealt with it in the past, lost a friend a couple years ago to it and know people who've been taking tablets to combat it for close to 10 years now.

This caught me by surprise, and really hurt. Resonated very strongly with me.

You will be missed, Mr. Williams. Thanks for all the years of laughter.

It may sound callous, but i generally don't care when celebrities pass away. When Paul Walker passed, to me, he was just another guy. Didn't really feel anything.

However, really, really sad Robin Williams passed.

He could make you sad watching a film, and instantly turn it around and make you happy!

    Who can forget this guy

Found a rather nice tribute to him on youtube earlier, thought i might share

Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. This was the first celebrity death that made me tear up a little. Robin Williams was everyone's crazy uncle.

It just goes to prove how many sad people there are out there who have nothing better to do than put abuse on Twitter after a entertaining legend has passed away, get a life and $#@! off!!!

Also just heard that he had the beginnings of Parkinsons disease at the time of his death as well

Robin Williams has been around since before we were all born. We grew up watching him, laughing at him, and enjoying everything he did. It is no surprise that most people are really saddened by his death.

I started off watching Mork and Mindy so I've been there right at the start of his career and yeah, I think most of us in the 30's will still remember him mostly as that alien from an egg shell - I don't think there will be any other better loved comedian actor around, although John Cleese comes close!
