Holy god....MLB The Show is just awful

Are all baseball games like this??

I mean...sure I $#@! about FIFA and Madden but those are flaws in the way they make out defense and other things to be....how theres a exploits and such things.

But this game...jesus...I'm not even mad....I'm just astounded.

It's not that the game itself is bad...but man...I cannot tell where the ball is going when pitched to me AT ALL....unless it's an obvious ball high or low to start off with.

Then the pitching....jesus...I would have the pulsing circle at it's smallest and STILL get balls thrown.

EVEN THEN...I played, after figuring out some of the buttons for about an hour, online and in my first game....the guy only got 3 runs on me in the first couple of innings. After that....all I did was throw curve balls mixing up where they were going and he never scored again.

Then the fielding.....these guys take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to catch and throw the ball. I've never seen a MLB player take a game so casually. It was like they were stuck...or something.

Maybe I'm just not used to baseball games...I've never played one before....maybe back in 1998 or something...but dam this game just seems really really bad. Not video game wise...but the transition from real life to video game....it just sucked.

The game is far from horrible. You may not like it - which is fine. But it's nowhere near horrible. To me, that says unplayable.

More often it's just a learning curve. If you stick at it,. should you choose to, you may still not like it. But I can guarantee you won't thin it's awful.

    #IndieStation4 and proud of it.

Love the game.. it has a learning curve; especially for inexperienced players.

I can hit usually hit at or above .300 which is about as good as you can hope for a baseball game. You are going to strike out. Learn how to drive the ball into the gaps with bat placement with guys who can't swing for power. It takes patience. The Show is far & away the best baseball series/game ever made. Now if they would have added PS Move support like Show13, I would have bought it at launch instead of being a cheap chip about it. I like baseball but I'm not paying MSRP for a downgraded experience & slightly better GFX.

This game is amazing. Like others said, you need to learn the game. Guess what pitch is coming too. If you guess correctly, it becomes much easier to hit the ball.

I personally use the Meter pitch style as i suck with all that pulsating $#@!.

There was just no depth perception as a batter. I could never tell at what point the ball was going across home plate...I was basically guessing.

I would swing to late....or swing to early.

Then theres that entering in the later part of the pitch count thing....that $#@! is awful. I mean...the first couple of pitches are important to me...I try and mix it up....but with that feature you can't.

Say what? I thought it was unanimous. MLB 14: The Show is the pinnacle of not only baseball games but of all sports games period.

    My biggest tip:

Watch the ball all the way from when it leaves the pitchers hand. If you still can't track it after practicing, your TV may need an upgrade as it is a split second type reaction that is needed. The refresh rate or HZ may be hindering your experience, my plasma lets me see the ball all the way to the plate.

It's your opinion. Although this game does have a learning curve that you kinda have to get over before you start having fun.

It's not the game, per se.

It's the way, I'm guessing, they have to do baseball.

I mean, there are only so many ways you can do a batters p.o.v.....so, I dunno. It really sucked.

man, you need to practice and get on operation sports for TNK's slider set. This game has a huge learning curve and when it comes to hitting, it takes time because it's hard! I used to swing at everything, now, I see the ball better, get into hitter's counts, and enjoy the hell out of it. But like someone else mentioned, if you can't track the ball smoothly on your TV, it may be time for an upgrade.
