High CPU requirements, but we'll see if it's actually using the hardware or if it's just inefficient coding.

I did think it's close to my 3930K I have faith it'll be a good build. TW2 was pretty solid

They're actually much less than what I had imagined they might be. I wonder if I'll be able to push 4K at all.

When my 290 arrives tomorrow (with luck) I'll be at recommended spec, except I have 16GB RAM and my 3770K runs at 3.9GHz.

That's probably medium settings on this game then, although I only play on my TV at 1920 x 1080 so maybe high settings.

The 290 was at a price I couldn't pass up, 215, I guess a new generation of cards must be on the way soon.

Getting Unity to run is a game in itself

They've been here for about 2 months now, AMD had to drop their prices to compete with Nvidia's 9 series. Now the AMD cards are quite the steal.

I imagine we could see the Nvidia 900Ti series by around the time w3 launches.

Nah. We might get another round of faster cards but the GPUs themselves will stay the same as they are now until DX12 releases. Neither AMD nor Nvidia wants to invest a large amount of money into a new generation of DX11 cards with DX12 so close to arrival. You'll probably see a 980 Ti sometime in late spring or early summer, but that's going to be it for the DX11 generation.

Will have to upgrade my rig :S Or just build a new one I guess, at 4 years old I can't expect it to run all the new games.

I can admit I've never been a guru when it comes to understanding some of the PC specs and which games I can actually play. I purchased Witcher for my PC back in the day and was a horrible mistake. It was of course beautiful and seemed like it was going to be great but my PC just could not handle it. So I will be picking up Witcher 3 of course but it will be for my PS4.

"One does not simply, build a rig for the Witcher"

That should be a meme if it's not already. They pretty much future proof the game. Brand new rigs today sometimes struggle with Witcher 2 still :P And if they don't....well, go activate that fancy setting called 'uber sampling' and your PC will receive a swift kick to its balls.

I returned my 290 because the massive heat sink made it about a inch too tall for my HTPC case (slightly embarrassing), I now have a 970GTX so I should be all good for this!

    Can't wait.
