Could you function 30 days and longer without a smart phone or computer?

Could you make it for 30 days and longer without accessing your smart phone or computer?

Yes, I could. It's easy for me to do it because I don't use a lot of features on my smart phone or computer. My cell phone is mainly for calling and receiving calls on the go, and my laptop is just for checking the news and fitness sites.

I have already done this several times, the last time was when I went to India for over a month. The way around it was simply to take other forms of entertainment.

There was even a time when at Uni that we had no electricity for 2 weeks and we were all forced to make do too and while at first we did miss having electricity to power everything, it was a lot of fun playing all of our old board games, poker, snooker, and whatnot during that time.

    Not instantly no.
I'd have to get used to it, lower down my usage.

    So I'm going for no.

I'm doing it now. I no longer have a "smart" phone. I went back to a dumb phone (relativistic with regards to cellphones) and I have to admit, life without incessant texts, emails and bloatware is much more enjoyable. I'm not all that sociable anyway so I don't "need" these features.

I think after a few days I would get used to it. But those first few days would suck. Fortunately I'm not a fan of social media so that would be the least of my problems.

    Same.

So long as I'm doing something else - e.g. sports, swimming, kayaking etc.

But if it's just, stay at home and do nothing then I dunno...

If you mean for recreational use. Yeah, could definitely do that.

If not then no. I use a computer at work and I read my emails off my phone. I would:
    1) Be so far behind on work it wouldn't be funny.
    2) Have my timetable so messed up it wouldn't be funny.
    3) Get fired by my boss because it wouldn't be funny.

At one point in time, I could without a problem. Now it would be sorta hard since the world mostly revolves around smart phones and PCs. And just imagine... I'm trying to get a little "Special attention" how am I going to tell said chick this? Go over her house, knock on the door and then ask? Sick!

I could use one but it would be highly impractical and counter productive.
Now I get an invitation to a meeting on my phone, I tap and I'm done. I can access at any time everyone's calendar at work, and my wife's calendar. I even get an event invitation about laundry day from my wife. lol

Do without my computer? No. I'm a programmer. Gotta pay the bills.

But if I went to India like Varsh then...sure. Computers are just tools. There are probably people that have formed a mental dependency on computers. I would think those types can't be away from a computer for a couple of hours....if that.

If school didn't demand that I use a computer a lot then I would use it less. Realistically I only use my phone for texts, phone calls and to check email. Checking the email is handy since a lot of the time the computer labs on campus are full.

Focus. Control. Conviction. Resolve. A true ace lacks none of these attributes. Nothing can deter you from the task at hand except your own fears. This is your sky.

I can not. Times have changed, and life revolves around smart phones and computers. There was a time where people didn't have cars, but we can't go 30 days without them.

I am sure there are some younger people that can go without their phone or computer. But because of my business, I must have access to these everyday.

Anyone can if they do not NEED them. I didn't have these as a kid in the 80's and 90's. So I know I could live without these if my job didn't rely on them.

    Hell, I didn't have a cell phone till 1999, and I didn't have a computer till 2004.
