Uncharted 4 delayed to Spring 2016

After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don’t take lightly — this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for. So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End not only meets the team’s high standards, but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title.
Thank you for your patience — we know the extra wait will be excruciating, but you’ll see it will be worth it as we reveal more about Uncharted 4 over the next year. The team at Naughty Dog will be heads down working through 2015 making sure that Nathan Drake’s story gets the closure it deserves. Come Spring 2016, you and Nate are in for one thrilling, emotional ride.

    Uncharted 4 delayed to 2016

A note from directors Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann
Since we showed you our first gameplay reveal of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, more of the game and story have come together, and it’s become clear to us that this game is much more ambitious than we originally envisioned.

After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don’t take lightly – this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for.

So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End not only meets the team’s high standards but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title.

A remaster of the trilogy would help ease that wait.... *cough*

lol Darky, my rage was building up till your post. Than stoped and calmed down thanks to you. A few months won't hurt me. But the exclusive content is getting dire, except indie like titles.

No biggie. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait once it is ready.

I've almost started to get happy when games get delayed. Gives me more time to cut through my backlog, and lowers the risk of the game having major issues.

Gah! I would rather them spend time on perfecting it though.

Man, this generation has a very bland start. But I'd rather the game be perfect than rushed.

Slightly disappointed, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. I've got plenty of games to keep me amused until then.

So many games now (yes, many games), a delayed ps4 exclusive doesn't matter that much to me. (who needs multiple triple-A games left and right anyway - with indies being this meaty?)

I don't mind since I have other games to get through....plus when they delayed The Last of Us it became game of the year.

For once I'm going to cite Colin Moriarty, this game was never meant or realistically going to hit, 2015.

2016 isn't a delay considering there wasn't a release date to delay from in the first place. For example, Project Cars/Driveclub/Watch Dogs were delayed as they had looming release days to be moved from.

    $#@! off. Just $#@! off.

Don't even wanna here the tired line of "Oh if they need extra months to make better etc then so be it". $#@! off. Almost 18 months and still no worthy next gen game ffs

Pretty disappointing, hope Until Dawn doesn't get delayed.
On the plus side I now might have time to play the Ratchet and Clank reboot.

I think the game was being hyped. Glad they slowed it down to work back at it.

I think they delayed it to try and get that 60fps that people were complaining about it being 30fps. I think that's why it was delayed.

On the one hand, i guess its good because it gives them time to really live up to expectations. Their gameplay reveal at PSX left a lot of people wanting.

On the other hand, God dammit Sony has a hole in their Holiday line up AGAIN. Afterall Driveclub $#@!ed up even after a year+ delay (No huge surprise there sadly. I've always said Evolution is the worst Sony studio).

The PS4 as a games machine is terrible compared to the PS1, PS2, AND PS3 within the first 1-2 years.

Sony's 1st party studios/2nd party are just completely underwhelming in output AND quality right now.

After all the hype of PS4 development being so much easier and quicker, Sony's output on the PS3 in 2007 was a lot better than Sony's output on the PS4 in 2014.

The PS4's 2015 outlook went from 'Good' (not very good, or excellent) to 'Decent' at best now.

Bloodborne is sure to be fantastic (I hope), but I'm never going to get a console for just one, two or even three games alone.

Bloodborne and Rime are the only two Sony games coming out that I am even sold on right now.

Nintendo's output for the Wii U has been far superior to Sony's output for the PS4. Even adjusting for the head-start they had. The Wii U is the best current games machine out right now.

The PS4 is pretty $#@!ty. I'm waiting for it not to be $#@!ty. But it taking a long time. Hopefully Sony Santa Monica announces something this month. Because none of Sony's other studios have anything exciting announced so far.

I at least want to be looking forward to something coming out down the line but 2015 barely has anything for me and 2016 has nothing for me.

Oh well. Naughty Dog should be able to hit 1080p/60fps easily with the extra development time. Uncharted 4 is likely the last game in the franchise so they might as well make sure it's the best it can be.
