JP has knocked up an entertaining review of Hotline Miami 2.
Been playing this myself. I love it, but it definitely not as good as the first. Wasn't keen on how you control two players at once. It was a right mess.

Is that the right link? I've got to login to N4G?I reserve the right to change my mind without prior notice.
Gawd.. This game (the first one) is so~ exhausting! Played 6 hours last night. The music is hypnotic, in a bad way.. I think. Until I got to the nightclub, and all of a sudden:
I was smitten.

I just finished HLM2, and I really liked it. The soundtrack was incredible, and despite a lot of negative comments around the internet, I actually liked the way they expanded the story. I won't spoil it, but it was delightfully depressing in a sort of Fight Club-ish way.
I remember hearing an interview with the guys form Devolver where they were set on this being the last HLM game. I hope they change their minds eventually, because even though 2 certainly had an ending, it would be cool to see where 3 could go. And if they didn't want to make the same game again, I think it would actually be cool to see them attempt to translate the gameplay into a 3D space.
I just beat HM2 last night and damn, I love this game.
It's one of those games you gotta get into to, as, like the original, it is brutally challenging at times. But man, once you get into the groove and crank up the volume it's a whole experience in itself.
I found it interesting how much more difficult they actually did make it. They levels are far larger and more dangerously designed with windows all over the place. You have less variety in characters/masks but the ones you do have are much more varied or powerful. Some people see the focused nature as a negative but I really enjoyed it, as it forces you into new play styles and situations.
Immediately after completing it I loaded up the original and it's crazy how much they sped the entire flow of the game up. You run faster, attack faster, enemies are wayyyy faster to react to you and are constantly on a hair-trigger. It's like every aspect was just cranked up to 11.
And damn, that soundtrack.

I played the first one on PC and loved it, any tips on HM2 for PS4? The dual stick isn't feeling as natural to me on this as most dual stick shooters.
I hadn't played twin stick shooters in a while either but I quickly got used to it and could really tell I was literally just better at the game by the end of it.
A really good tactic I found if you get cornered with a gun to quickly press R2, R1, R2 like as fast as you possibly can to target and shoot the nearest enemy. If you time it right you will lock on, shoot, and lock off. Doing this in succession can really help with the quick gunplay, I found.
