Yeah I heard. It looks like James May won't be renewing his contract as on his Twitter it showed "Former TV Presenter", I wonder what the Hamster will do.

Well a lot of people saw this coming so hopefully Clarkson will have no problem finding work elsewhere.

End of Top Gear. Sad news. Doubt Hammond and May will renew their contracts either.

Sky will probably be looking to pick the three for them up for something.....

Personal preference, but i wouldn't mind seeing them at some of the F1 weekends

At the very least, BBC should let Top Gear die. Don't bring on some pillock to try and fill their shoes. It's not gunna work. Top Gear was Richard, James, and Jeremy.

Shame for the fans of Top Gear more than anything, even if they carry on the show I will not be watching it due to the fact that I don't feel anyone can present it like the 3 of them can! There was talk about Chris Evans doing it but I can't stand him so there is no way I will be tuning in if he does!

I don't understand the sentimentality of some people sometimes.

he assaulted someone. in any other line of work, he would have been sacked, shouldn't be any different because he was the front of a popular show on TV. he would have lost his job even before this incident if he wasn't on TV, the long list of racist remarks would have been more than enough to see him go in any run-of-the-mill 9-5 job.

I'd be disappointed if he managed to just waltz into any job after this, let alone a high paying one on TV.
Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you.
I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do.

I couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like.

Yep, just let it die. It's going to be embarrassing and cringe inducing watching someone trying to fill their shoes.
Took them nearly 13 years to build up that show to what it was. Tools, they were. But they were entertaining tools.

I agree, Fiji. I wouldn't mind a one off race where instead of Croft and Brundle commentating they have that trio. Could make a boring race like Monaco a bit more fun. Or have them doing the grid walk

I agree with you there, I don't condone what he did and like you say any other job he would have been fired on the spot (unless it was out of hours then it would be unfair dismissal) but perhaps maybe (though unlikely) he would have learn't his lesson from this and toned it down a little but who knows!

Sky have probably approached him tbh. Would not be surprised if they're moving onto Hammond and May before they re-new their contract with the BBC as well.

A punishment for the assault was rightly deserved.

But people really went out of their way to chastise anything Clarkson did. He got done in for drinking and driving at the North friggin pole. That is $#@!ing absurd. Who is he going to crash into? A skyscraper? Children going to school? A polar bear!? Seriously, I wasn't aware the North Pole had any running government to oppose Clarkson doing what he did. Or any rules in place for which side of the snow you should be driving on.

People nowadays are too terrified to speak their minds, at least Clarkson didn't hold back and called it how he saw it.

    EDIT:
Aye, don't forget how he got done in for mumbling the 'n' word

That was a farce. I wasn't aware you could be done in for not even forming words. All these "speech experts" mysteriously appeared out of the woodwork to justify their dead end careers....work must be slow for them...REAL slow.

It's a farce because i substitute this guy in when i sing the rhyme...i imagine if i mumble it, i too will be taken down for being racist.

It would be understandable if the phrase was "Catch a Claustrophobia by his toe" or something distinctly dissimilar from the n word, but really, Tiger is only down two letters, ONE if spoken, and near indistinguishable if you mumble it. Seriously anyone try to mumble Tiger. The hard edge of the T sound gets lost.

And this is one of the reasons why I can't hate the guy, most of the time he says things that most of us are all too $#@! scared to say (apart from him mumbling the rhyme) but I think the only people who didn't get offended by it were black

I'd happily watch a new Top Gear. It needed a refresh anyway, not an imitation but with different people - a new approach. Something with a little more class and a little more wit (it used to have wit, but recently seemed to descend into 'a few lads $#@!ing about').

[Richard Hammond is small, James May is slow, Jeremy Clarkson likes POWER] - that got old a while ago.
[At Top Gears secret test track........... situated just off the M1 in Leeds] - that got old too.

And Duff I'm sorry but Chris Evans is amazing so you're wrong and I hate you.

I don't follow/watch Top Gear, but I've seen an episode here and there. While Clarkson indeed made a mistake, it's a bad choice in my eyes from BBC.
The show's going down if these guys are gone for sure.

The BBC is supposed to be making a stance lol. With the way they handled the Jimmy Saville case and the rest of the pedophile ring at the BBC. This makes the sacking of Jeremy Clarkson laughable.
