Could this be a re-invention of the Vita allowing PS3 style graphics and take third party memory cards finally giving people what they wanted from the system all along?! Would be pretty huge for the Vita and Sony themselves if that is the case, but not holding my breath......

Is it weird that I'm still hoping to see some kind of chance to stream the game from Vita to PS4 or such, to play it over TV? That'd be nice..

IGN picked it up so this seems legit.

NEW PLAYSTATION VITA DESIGN TRADEMARKED IN JAPAN
    Even slimmer.

A new model of PlayStation Vita could be coming soon, as a trademark for a redesigned take on Sony's handheld has been filed in Japan.

The trademark, which first surfaced on Twitter, provides any early look at the device. Unsurprisingly, it looks very similar to last year's 2000 model, albeit with the addition of what appears to be an HDMI port, as pointed out by NeoGAF user Jignx.

The device doesn't appear to veer all that far from the first redesign, which scrapped the original's pricey OLED display for a more cost-effective LCD solution.

According to a rough translation of the post, this new model won't mark the return of the gorgeous OLED, as the trademark -- which was filed earlier this month -- described it as "a portable LCD screen game machine controller."

Can release as many revisions of the hardware as they like, end of the day if the games still aren't there that alot of people want (western first party titles, not just indie/jrpgs) these will just be dust collectors all over again. Sorry for the negativity but that's just how I feel about the Vita nowadays.

Feel the exact same way. It just doesn't have the support. So sad cuz it is an awesome device.

It's how we all feel about the Vita these days, not used mine for a few weeks but don't have the heart to get rid because of how great the general device is, just didn't get the support it needed or deserved!
