New Dragon Ball TV Series Announced - Dragon Ball Super

TOKYO (April 28, 2015) – Toei Animation has announced production on Dragon Ball Super (Japanese title; tentative
for English release), the first all-new Dragon Ball television series to be released in 18 years. Following the recent events of the hit feature film, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, Dragon Ball Super will debut in Japan in July 2015.

Reuniting the franchise’s iconic characters, Dragon Ball Super will follow the aftermath of Goku’s fierce battle with Majin Buu, as he attempts to maintain earth’s fragile peace. Overseen by Dragon Ball’s original creator, Akira Toriyama and produced with Fuji Television, Dragon Ball Super will draw on its historic past to create a bold, new universe welcoming to fans and endearing to new viewers.

Akira overseeing it is a great start.
Probably doesn't want another GT abomination again as he had nothing to do with that.

If Toriyama has some say in what happens it may actually be decent. I wouldn't mind more Dragon Ball if it's good.

Please kill off the current Gohan for one that's actually likeable again.

Yeah; Gohan post-Cell was nothing but a $#@!.

Would love to see how Goku and Uub are doing but I guess this wont look that far ahead. Looking forward to it though!

Haven't seen them either but Battle of Gods has been available for sometime now and should be easy to find but Resurrection 'F' hasn't been released in English yet... from what I can tell.

I only saw the battle of god movie, and it was pretty good. The animation looked like alot of the new dragonball z art style, kinda goofy though, alot of it was pretty silly but overall i enjoyed it

Yeah, the main strength of Battle of Gods was how funny it was. There was some good action, but overall the movie was very light-hearted, so not only was there not much action, I never took it too seriously. I enjoyed it though.

The new movie, Return of F, is aiming to fix those flaws from what I understand.

I personally liked the humor that was sprinkled into battle of god, but yeah it was very hard to take seriously.

Ok saw Battle of the Gods

-Gohan is still a punk $#@!
    -Vegeta dances around
-Im pretty sure Bulma is lying about her age
-Goku is same old same old
    -Yamcha just sits around
    -Krillin has hair
-Weird relationship between 41 year old Mai from original Dragon Ball that was turned into a child again with kid Trunks. Does that count as pedophilia? She is around Trunks age now but she still has all her memories from 41 years.

I found it super weird to be honest

I managed to get through it once.
It is incredibly dull and boring though, way to much focus on Trunks and Pan.

The new movies and show will replace GT since GT is not canon.

Just saw this on GAF -

As has been discovered Mision Tokyo, Toei Animation has planned a minimum of 100 chapters to Super Dragon Ball. This figure can obviously increase if the series has enough acceptance and success.

Fuji TV has scheduled Dragon Ball Super Sundays at 9 am, so the series will target child. The series will be placed immediately after the Buu saga so it probably will follow the humorous and light-hearted tone of that saga. Toei Animation has in mind children who are amateur Dragon Ball Kai more than 90 fans.

Finally, Toei Super Dragon Ball intends to market classically. That is, without simulcast in Daisuki and the Japanese audience in mind, something that did not happen with the latest productions of Sailor Moon and Saint Seiya. The strategy is to sell to Spanish television as the DVD is edited in Japan sell the rights to the world for home video. These decisions can make Super Dragon Ball take longer than desired to reach Spain, as current televisions are not very keen to cast anime.

    Thus, it appears that:

Super Dragon Ball have a minimum of 100 episodes.
Your target audience will be children who have amateur Dragon Ball Kai.
No plans to conduct simulcast in Daisuki.

The premiere of Dragon Ball Super is scheduled for July 5 and even then the information will be filtered in dropper. To keep up to date do not forget to visit Tokyo Mision every day.

This was extremely unexpected, I thought the creator would have been so old or at least over this "institution" that a real new series that isn't hogwash would be started. Never thought this summer there would be a chance to watch a new Dragon Ball, less than 0.01% odds. I watched a tiny amount of GT and couldn't stand it, it is very boring and messed up beyond what is watchable. The voice-overs for starters, that was a big factor plus the stories they featured were bad.

I don't know if I'm going to like this, it could be good but its incredibly rare to have something great so long after the previous series/movie. The sub version should be ok but a dubbed version is the problem, who will voice the characters? It would have been funny if it was called Dragon Ball AF...that would've been priceless. The oldest anime myth turns out to be true...

    Sunday's at 9:00 am, what a timeslot.

Final Fantasy IX is without question not only the best video game ever made, but the best entertainment created by mankind.

This is the weirdest video I've seen on the Internet
