My PC now is like F18!

Yesterday I bought SSD Samsung 850 Pro Series 512GB. My PC is flying like an F18! When pressing on anything. The pages goes so fast and when turning on my PC. Its takes only about 8 seconds. This SSD thing is way better than my old HDD and I would call it super technology. I want to buy 2 more to install my games on them loool.

Welcome to the big SSD realization. Makes you really hate normal HDDs.

I had a 256GB 850 Evo. It was nice, but the benefits aren't THAT impressive. I ended up sending it back and chose to wait for 1TB or higher SSDs to become affordable.

Once you go SSD you don't go back. I was on the verge of buying a 1TB 850 pro a few days ago but didn't think I should spend any more money on my PC. I will soon be fully SSD though and just use HDDs for archive reasons with external drives.

I have a RAID set up for archives and just use SSDs for all my work and daily stuff. Even though SSDs are a lot more affordable, the 1 TBs are still too expensive like Nerevar said. Intel is supposedly going to release their 10 TB SSDs later this year, wish should push SSD prices down further. Might want to wait until then to go that big on SSD storage. Lots of good things coming soon.

I doubt I'll be going fully SSD until I build my next computer. Happy with 2TB mechanical and a boot SSD for now. I might get a 512GB for games soon.

My next case literally won't have space for a HDD so I'll have no choice to have multiple SSDs

You are correct. I will never use any normal HDD and I hate them now as well. From now, I will be using SSD only.

I have the 520 and benefits are incredible. My PC is runs so fast and even I will buy more SDD down the road but I will want to first buy a new motherboard and CPU.

For me, as of now, I have only one SDD but the end of this year. I want to buy new PC parts such as motherboard, cpu, case, ddr4 ram, and new liquid cooling. I will be using all SDD no HDD.

It's very nice when you get used to SSD boot-speed. But it makes sitting through a HDD boot unbearable once you get used to it

I too would need to buy a new motherboard, CPU and RAM if I decided to get a new case. That's the only thing putting me off currently. My 3930K is still packing a pretty potent punch.

The Samsung SSD it has its own cd and the sittings are great. I will get more SSD but I need to get a new motheboard and cpu as they both will turn now 4 years since I built my PC. I want to be more creative with my new PC and it will cost me around 1500 again. That's why I don't want to rush. My CPU I7 3829 is ok but I want something better.

What exactly were you expecting from a member with a Lufthansa A380 vertical stabilizer as his profile pic?

Considering I have no idea what that is, I can't say I expected anything. I do admire your passion for aircrafts, though. Reminds me of my grandpa who used to be in the Navy and flew B-52s in Vietnam. He loves talking about the aircrafts ... never talks about the war.

Going back to the main topic though ... I can never again use an SSD as an OS drive. HDDs are so maddeningly slow compared to SSDs after you've been using an SSD for a while. It really is night and day.

When i put my PC together last year, the one thing that was not going to change was running a Boot SSD as my main drive. It's not even funny the number of things i can do whilst waiting for my PC at work to boot up with its HDD. My home PC is up and running by the time my butt touches my chair

SSD's are the best for OS tho, wouldn't ever go back.

I get back to the desktop in about 5-7 seconds from sleep mode, and all my programs are running where I left them.

I'm still trying to figure out why 10,000RPM HDD's are so freakin expensive when it's pretty damn obvious that SSD's are surprisingly cheaper and much, much faster. I don't get the price factor of raptor HDD's, are they expensive due to the name "Raptor" or something?

They have a limited market appeal. So of course they will be more expensive than typical hdd's.

Well, they kind of limited that market when they first released those, you would think they would want more people to buy them, that's why the prices don't make sense.

    1TB raptor $211 vs 1TB ssd for $486...

    How is that cheaper?
