Itagaki warns against playing Devil's Third with Wii U GamePad

The creator of upcoming Wii U title Devil’s Third has said that the game should not be played using the console’s standard controller.

Devil’s Third is already being described as “shaping up to be one of the worst games Nintendo has ever published” and a “cruel joke” by Videogamer while Eurogamer has said it is “shoddy” and “undoubtedly a bad game”.

Now Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden developer Tomonobu Itagaki has said that it shouldn’t be played with the Wii U’s primary USP – the GamePad.

“Why do I recommend Pro-controller?” a Facebook post said. “I never wanna discount standard tab-controller. But, Devil's Third is a super speedy game. So tab-controller has following disadvantages:

“1. Four face buttons are positioned overcrowding. So you easily press the wrong button. In that case, you will die.

    2. Distance of two analogue sticks are too far apart. So it's quite difficult for you to feel/grasp the battlefield.

    3. Devil's Third is a game you play a long time. The standard tab-controler is too heavy for such use.”

Developer Valhalla Game Studios followed up with a message to the media warning against GamePad use.

“As Itagaki mentioned in his Facebook column, please use Pro controller along with a USB keyboard when you preview Devil's Third. Tablet controller is not recommended,” it said.

“For your information, the multiplayer mode of Devil's Third is designed to be played by tens of thousands of players. We understand it's going to be a very tough job to evaluate such a game. It will be much appreciated if you will use your imagination to get the depth when you play the multiplayer mode. Thank you in advance for your understanding and your attention to above.”

Devil’s Third is due out on August 28th.

Not that anyone in North America would be able to play it anyway since an American release is uncertain, but for everyone else, you've been warned.

    Guys,
At last, I was be able to understand about the reactions.
Devil's Third is the game which reflects the player's skill directly/vividly.
    This is truth.

Lol so your controller you got with your system isn't good enough. Then like the article I got this from says. Apparently journalists whose job it is to play games for a living don't know what they are doing. Lol this guy needs to put the shovel down. Maybe your game just sucks. Lol
