Streaming uses a lot of data

I am new to streaming on twitch and I just purchased an Elgato hd60 so I can capture my ps4 gameplay and stream through my PC using obs so I can apply an overlay. What I did not take into account is if I want to make streaming a serious venture I will be burning through gigs. The problem I am facing now is comcast does not offer any upgrades to data limit for the month. I am now halfway through my billing cycle and I am about to hit my data limit just from streaming about 6 hours 5 days out of the week. Comcast does offer business grade direct line internet but it would cost double my current rate. I really don't want to stress about money when it comes to my streaming. I just wanted to turn what I love into something I can share with everyone and create an environment where gamers and viewers can chat about games out now or to come out and various subjects while having a live feed to someone playing their favorite game and can answer their questions in real time (not including no the lag). As of now I have 20 followers and a couple regulars but streaming is becoming an expensive venture that isn't paying for itself.
I do often read many different forums on how to grow your viewer base and implement what has worked for so many others. I've even made an effort to clean up my stream and keep it a comfortable environment for most people. This has definitely made me understand why gamers do push for donations. Before I started streaming myself I thought it was more of a supplementary thing.
I do have a regular income and I could pay for the upgrade in Internet service. I'm just worried about spending too much on this and not getting anything back to supplement streaming. I love this site and I love streaming. What should I do?

Do they not offer Unlimited data plans in the US?

Almost all ISP's in our part of the world offer residential plans with no data limit. They don't charge that much for it either.

Really? This is the US we're talking about. They offer garbage service and overcharge for everything

What's the point of fast internet if you're limited by a data cap? Defeats the purpose. What are you gunna watch? a 360p youtube video? The US sucks

The ISP i'm with offer unlimited Fiber at the same price as Unlimited ADSL.... I would jump on that to watch youtube vids in 4K...sadly, i have to wait until next year before the lines actually reach me as they're still rolling them out

Yeah in Austria I paid about 25 euros for 75mb ds and 5mb us and had unlimited data. I downloaded 60gb over 2 days once. US has terrible net plans compared to the rest of the connected world.

Yeah the US pretty much sucks. All the freedoms are nice but I don't disagree. I don't know what my internet speed is I think it's decent, I don't have problems with online play but yep. They will overcharge for anything and everything.

What does internet cost you guys in the US?

My current plan is ~55USD a month for unlimited data. The unlimited fiber is the same price.

It depends how important this pursuit is for you. If you really want to do this, pay up for the business plan. Really though, 80 is daylight robbery, 120 even more so. My monthly charge was less than half the price of a new game, yours is like 1.5...so yeah, it comes down to if you can afford to pursue this.

The life of a successful steamer is surely a nice one though.

I pay $30 for 6mbps from a 300gb data plan. Cell Phone; the Note 4 is just BEASTLY Data consuming. Fortunately, I still have my unlimited date from AT&T.

I never went for Virgin though, it was an 18 month contract and I'm in this rented accommodation for 6 months, so it would've been a waste of money for me to go with Virgin. Went with BT in the end for it's 38Mb/19Mb at 15/m as my line's maximum was 42Mb. Still though getting 4.5MB/s download speed so good enough for me.

I don't get the 152, I get about 110 yet Steam often downloads at about 15MB/s

We were on the 50Mbs plan but they doubled us.

I'm paying $70 a month for 50Mb down and 25Mb up with Time Warner Cable. I do get unlimited data though so I'm not getting raped as much as those of you who are on Comcast. Still, I consider it highway robbery compared to what our comrades across the pond are getting. Thankfully for me, Google is laying down the infrastructure in the greater Charlotte area.

It's terrible what your service providers have been allowed to do. Thankfully Google is pretty much forcing them to upgrade.

Only when they're in the area. :/

Like 75 bucks for 1 Gigabit Download and Upload. Their standard internet is free, provided you pay for the cost to bring the internet into your home.
