I'm sure there are other sequels, but by adding them, that would make the poll longer (and besides, i'm sure the forum has a poll option limit)

while I’m a ######## GT Fan i voted for GTA for 2 reasons, GT will live forever no matter what, GTA wont necessarily, and I’m sure I’m going to be able to play GT4 for ever if necessary. also I believe GTA could benefit from the new raw power more then GT would so....
I’m still going to be very exited about both games and I will still think that GT rules over all though"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

In my opinion MGS has got the best looking graphics along with final fantasy on the ps2. Imagine what Mr Kojima could do with the playstation 3. Is it true that all of the development team behind Metal Gear are leaving. Thats what i heard, something to do with contracts.

I voted for MGS too, because i'm a huge MGS fan, i've beaten both MGS's inside out. I also am a tekken, FF and GT fan, but MGS would be my TOPS

MGS 2 is now one of the easiest games for me to play. I can complete it in 3 hours and 15 mins on hard, on very easy i could probably do it in under three hours. they also includ the long credits in the overall time

Man I love all those games! Please Don't make me choose! Hmm as a sequal? Let me think...Well Metal Gear has to come to PS3 becuase it would just be crazy for it not too. Solid Snake deserves to be immortalised in PS3 Graphics! GTA would be awsome on PS3, if not very gruesome. Final Fantasy is a must too for me - we need to see FF7 - 2 the game on PS3! Tekkens great, Onimusha's great, but If you have to make me choose I will probably say Final Fantasy with MGS second and GTA third.

Diffinately Final Fantasy has to come out for the PS3, it's as if it was ordained for it
also tekken must have a debut appearence on the PS3 too, same with MGS and without a doubt they should have GT as well

I would like to see GT on PS3 but other than graphics I dont think theres anything else they can do to improve the series. Its already one of the best driving games on PS2, the other is Burnout. Speaking of burnout, why isnt that on the list. Just imagine the looks of those crashes with the power of the PS3. You would be able to see everything from the Hub caps to the rear view mirror be thrown of and out of the car. Or being able to see the Dragonflys and other insects splatter all over the windscreen and number plate. If this was the level of detail the then the PS3 control would have to come with a water proof covering because of me drooling all over the thing with a big grin on my face showing my self-satisfaction at how I just crashed a TVR tuscan into the middle of Spaghetti junction.
Oh and, how the hell can there be another Ominusha game, the series has ended and they arent going to make anymore so an appearence on the PS3 is an impossibility.

and now you have Final Fantasy X-2
So that's how their going to make the sequel, mind you it is a very gruelling and uneasy process in which they have to sit thier and rip it bit by bit (not literally but as a matter of speech) and make a continuation of a game that is pretty much complete
I seriously would want another Onimusha game because they all kicked ass
brilliant games they were espicially 3, the best in the series in my opinion anyways

as I have posted in previous posts there are plenty of new things for polyphony to do with GT5 and to improve it. a couple of them are real-time variable weather effects and full real-time realistic crash damage

07-25-2004 #11Also environmental effects like birds flying around in the air or near the cars, trash objects laying or floating around, scenary and people doing crazy stuff like coming on the track and when they see the cars coming they run back.

On GT 4 people run on the track and run of at the last second so i guess they will do that on GT5. Oh and snakes usually just stick to foliage and stay hidden, rabbits maybe but i doubt theyll put that it as it is supposed to be a game for everyone.
-
07-25-2004 #13indeed. but i take it you don’t have GT4 prologue because on the Gran canyon rally track people do come onto the road, and then run out of your way as your car gets near

07-25-2004 #14And what do you mean by "as it is supposed to be a game for everyone." please explain yourself a bit more. I don't see whats so bad about them adding rabbits and other animals would make it a whole lot more realistic

Based on the law of averages than once in a while you will run over it and if polyphony want to make it realistic then you should be able to run over it. It would distract me from my racing though because i would be aiming for the thing, wouldnt you?

No, Hideo Kojima simply said that if there IS a MGS4 game, HE won't personally direct it. He simply said it's time for him to "move on", whatever that means

ya but
hideo kojima also said that after mgs2 he wouldnt continue the series but when he put togather a out line for mgs3 to see if anyone else would want to direct it no one said they would so hideo decided to do it himself so whos to say that wont happen again? i hope it does

If Kojima does decide to call it quits I think he would have made a big mistake, his career has been made on Metal Gear and leaving it behind when its doing better than it ever has would be stupid.
-
07-26-2004 #23
exactly and i bet even if he did decided not to direct the next metal gear solid game(if there is one) he would probably he heavily involved in the creation of it cause after all if you worked your hole life on something and someone else took it over wouldnt you want to see what they were doing with it?

Yup, of course he'd be involved. Just like how he was involved in the designing process of ZOE: The 2nd Runner. He directed the first one, but someone took over for him on the second one, and he still "guided" the new director, so to speak.
Well, he's already stinkin' rich, he can retire if he wanted to with the money he has right now. So he doesn't necessarily need to get another "job" if he does decide to leave MGS behind. I mean, wouldn't you want to retire early when you know you could? I'm quite sure anyone with half a brain would, and I'm sure Hideo has MUCH more then just half a brain.his career has been made on Metal Gear and leaving it behind when its doing better than it ever has would be stupid.I am a moron. Do not argue with me because I will drag you down to my level and win with experience

Sony Japan discusses PS3: Controller, RSX, Linux and more...
A number of interviews with a Sony Japan executive has cleared up some ambiguities and revealed some more exciting information.
Izumi Kawanishi, head of SCE's Software Platform Development division, was interviewed by Japanese site IT Media, and asked some of the difficult questions a number of fans and critics have been wanting to ask since Sony's pre-E3 conference.
Kawanishi said consumers should think of the 20GB and 60GB packages as variations, like with different PCs that have a bigger hard drive or more memory. The basic hardware is identical, but sometime in the future there may be further variations to add extra functionality. This will never prevent old games from working, because the operating system and drivers stored on every PS3 can adapt to hardware changes, much like a PC.
He admitted that one HDMI port had been dropped, but suggested that it may reappear in the future.
As Phil Harrison has said in his interviews, the motion sensing technology for the PS3 controller has been in the planning stages for many years. However, Sony felt now was the right time to introduce it because the technology had developed to a suitable level.
The PlayStation logo underneath the Start and Select buttons is a button itself that will allow you to switch the PS3 on and off, connect the controller to the PS3 (i.e. pair up over bluetooth) and access the user interface. Unfortunately, battery life has not been finalised, but he did confirm that the USB port will allow charging and wired gaming.
Kawanishi was asked whether the PS3 would have an internal power supply unit, or an external power brick like with the Xbox 360.
"It's of course internal," he responded. "It's better that way. We of course do things the good way."
In another interview with AV Watch, Kawanishi was questioned about why final specifications of Cell and RSX, in terms of numbers, was not shown at E3, and is not available on their website. He said that the numbers will be revealed later, but during a different part of the interview referred to the 3.2GHz clock speed of the Cell. This is the same as last year, possibly suggesting a changed RSX specification.
And finally, since Linux is pre-installed on the hard drive, users will be allowed to programme applications. However, Kawanishi stressed that certain game development tools would not be available to homebrew enthusiasts, and that Linux users would be provided with minimal support.
