GTA 5 mod brings Watch Dogs hacking tools to Los Santos

Watch Dogs may not have pleased everyone, but its hacking systems were a lot of fun. Wreaking traffic chaos with a single button press was a huge delight, especially if you're into low effort / high yield destruction like me. So it's nice to see someone has finally modded Watch Dogs protagonist Aiden Pearce into Los Santos, along with most of his familiar hacking skills and, if my memory serves me correctly, even some that don't appear in the original game.

As the video above demonstrates, all of the most common hacking abilities are there, including the ability to raise traffic barriers and change traffic lights. You can also control vehicles with more freedom than Watch Dogs allowed.

Created by JulioNIB, the mod is available to download over here. It follows a similar mod released back in 2014 for GTA IV, which Chris Livingston enjoyed at the time.

Pretty impressive considering this was all done by one person. One person + GTA:V = Better Watch_Dogs than what Ubisoft managed

That is pretty damn clever to be fair, not a PC gamer but I love how people mod these games!

This is why I play on PC. This looks better than Watch Dog.

I'm tempted to give it a go. Haven't played GTA in a long time.

I remember when you couldn't wait for it to release!

Have you tried any other mods on it?

I wanted it so bad! Then when I got it I think it suffered with the expectations of my hype. Hardly played it. Think I've got about 8 or so hours? I know I did the first heist.

Nope, keep meaning to but, time... lol

If you ever want to play BBK hit me up. Could always use an extra for heists or just messing around in free-roam.

For sure! I'm getting to the end of Fallout 4 now so once I have finished that I'll be willing to play some other games

This makes me miss PC gaming! I've been out of the loop since about 2006 with '97-'05 being the peak of my PC gaming.

My gripe with modern PCs is that I can't play my older games from Windows '98 and Windows XP era. Maybe there's a way but I'm so far removed that I wouldn't know.

PC gaming was so far ahead of consoles back in the day but now they're nearly identical, with PC only having a slight edge now. It makes me curious to see where gaming will go with VR, Nintendo NX, and the eventual PS 5 era.

    Good old Games?
Emulation? It's pretty easy getting older games working on modern PCs.

Yeah emulation isn't too difficult. Bit of an odd argument to have though, you can't play PS1/2/3 games on the PS4. Slight edge is debatable but I'm not turning this into yet another boring VS thread.

I had no idea! Like I stated, I'm so far removed from PC because I've been solely on consoles since '06. Thank you for the info though.

Most older games work fine on modern system. In the few cases they don't (if they have even a decent amount of popularity) you can find the game for download with the necessary software packaged to have it run. Arena and Daggerfall are good examples of that. You run the .bat and it works flawlessly.
