Two more mock-ups await you inside and they're possibly the best yet!
As we've said in previous articles, it seems that every week we've got a new Revolution Controller mock-up to show.
While we acknowledge that they're in no way 'news' or anything factual, they are indeed very interesting and opens up everyone's minds to what Nintendo could have cooking.
The first mock-up, seen above, features a very interesting aspect. It uses "blank buttons" that can be customized by the developer, to allow for simpler, easier execution of in-game moves etc. Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata, believes that casual and non-gamers can feel daunted by games and their controllers' complexity, and this would certainly help combat this.
Further, Reggie Fils-Aime of Nintendo America has said that Nintendo wants a controller that allows for optimized input for older, downloaded Nintendo games - all of which featured very different controllers. Again, this would be a great way to execute that.
This next mock-up shows resemblance to one that surfaced a month or two ago and looks even more interesting. Some of the features include a touch screen, gyroscopes and even temperature emitters. But once again, like previous controllers, it strongly goes against Nintendo's "simple" philosophy and the manufacturing of such a unit would be too expensive.
But certainly some great ideas there and no doubt we'll have more soon!
more speculation regarding the controller..how much time we will be before knowing for sure how the controller looks?

Revolution gets mocked again

That would seem a tad confusing though...
I don't know why people just can't wait until Nintendo reveals it althoug I will admit that Nintendo should have just revealed it at E3 this year anyway because the PS3 and 360 definitely are too far into development for them to copy Nintendo, not to mention the fact that Nitendo can patent the controller if it's revolutionary enough.

I know Nintendo revolution will release at one point or another, but since they have not it's interesting to speculate. The first design i thought no until i schemed over all the previous action button layouts of previous and current models. it makes perfect sense and correlates to what nintendo has been hinting at all along. The second design is somewhat intriguing also. The force feedback in a controller and the sense of temperature is somewhat revolutionary. Nintendo also can have their secondary screen without having players attach seperate gaming type devices. now the next controller could double as the next game boy with graphics equivlent or superior to psp, or better yet almost equal to the revolution graphics. I should'nt have second guessed nintendo they may be packing a punch this round
can't we all just get along (PS3,Wii,XBOX360)

I really wish nintendo didn't make it so hard to know what the control are.

I just made this mockup using paint.

I'll now give an explanation of the buttons:
1. An analog trackball, much like on computer mouses. For use in Revolution software.
2. A circular D-pad. For use in all software.
3. An analog Stick. For use in Revolution, and N64 software.
4. A "C-pad" to replace the c buttons of the N64. For use in Revolution and N64 software.
5,6,7,and8. Pressure sensitive face buttons, much like that of the Dual Shock 2 controller. They can be custom programed for custom layouts on the N64 and NES controllers which have less then that number of face buttons. For use in all software.
9,and10. Pressure sensitive shoulder buttons, much like that of the Gamecube's controller. For use in Revolution, SNES and N64 software.
11,and12. Start and Select buttons. Select for use in Revolution, NES, and SNES software, and Start for all software.

Regarding the first mock-up, how do blank face buttons that light up differ in any way from standard face buttons?

Well it means the developers can custom design the 'picture' of the button, its like that Optimus keyboard in General Chit Chat, its got small LEDs in the buttons to show colour graphics.
I think this would be a pretty neat idea actually.
And its defintely revolutionary.
Could cost a bit though, especially with circular design...
I like the 2nd mockup as well, seems possible, again, costly, but it would be really cool.I have no signature.
No, really, i don't. You're just imagining this.

Yeh exactly, its meant to make things simpler for younger gamers, or people new to a game, and you can make buttons change in-game.
This could be great for many things, say button 1 is run, it could have a little guy, then a blur to his left, then say you come to a wall, it changes to something like jump, a guy jumping up to a wall, hell you could even animate the icons if you wanted to.
Its just a simple addition to make things nicer, nothing more.I have no signature.

It's not a bad controller, but it looks like it would take a while to adapt to.

You would think nintendo would want to start releasing details about there console. I wonder what the hell they are waiting for. I mean i wasnt planning on buying the revolution anyways, i havent owned a nintendo product since the NES.

why can't they bring out the controle for crying out loud. nintendo is carrying this on for to long.

-

Because thier controller must be ground breaking. They must take their time for it to be great.

[LIVE]Turning Point score details announced
Codemasters has announced that the score behind Spark Unlimited’s forthcoming PlayStation 3 release, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, will be provided by the prestigious talents of award-winning music composer, Michael Giacchino.
No stranger to the world of videogames, Giacchino has previously worked on a number of WWII Shooters, including Call of Duty: Finest Hour and Medal of Honour: Frontline. With Turning Point, Giacchino will be collaborating with audio director Jack Grillo, supplemented by the 76-piece Hollywood Orchestra to deliver “a dynamic soundtrack that changes with the player's actions".
"I love working with Spark because they're a group that's focused on fusing innovation, quality and narrative into an intensity of game experience very few can create," commented Giacchino. "For this game, we've taken an interesting approach that will allow the score to be more unique and emotionally personal to the player."
Chief Executive Office of Spark Unlimited, Scott Langteau also commented, "Together with Michael, we have developed a system that will evoke mood, setting, and emotional involvement with a dynamic structure to deliver musically on Turning Point's themes - the dissonance of an occupied state, the chaos that comes from resisting an unstoppable oppressing army, and the heroic feeling of making a difference as an individual.â€*Kiss My X Box Flavoured Ass*
