    360 HELP

Ok so I have Gears of War. I LOVE the online features, but I have a problem. I can invite people to play online except for one of my friends on my list. He has live and the game but for some reason we ALWAYS get a host dissconnected error no matter if I host the game or if he hosts it. Also I can't have private chats with him. It always says the same things when either he or I try ot arrange the chat. It also happens in all games not just Gears of War. It's REALLY annoying and REALLY brings down the whole repuatation of Live. I can't find a single reason for this and really wish I oculd fix this. Anyone expiernce this or have any solutions?

Make him a preferred player and see if that helps...

Both of you need to check your NAT settings and make sure that it is not set to "strict", change it to "open" if it is. Also, try moving the 360 to the DMZ in your router.

    The above should solve it.

Make sure you aren't playing a ranked match.

How do you change your NAT settings?

What router do you have there with you?

Check this out, it will assist with port forwarding. Choose your router, then choose the application (XBOX Live 360) and follow the guide.

I suggest you start here. I'm sure you'll be able to find help in the "knowledge base", "forum", or maybe you can find a phone number... I'm not gonna look for you :P

Just so you know I have this problem too, and it actually happens like 75% of the time for me, no matter who the host is. It really sucks, cause I can't play ranked (don't want to get horrible stats right away!).

    You aren't the only one.

You could always try calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX.. they might figure out whats wrong.

That's why I posted what I did and asked what router he has... Oh well the sites there in my post if you need it for future references.
