Ha awesome-my PS2 has been through complete hell and back. Like four years ago one of my fraternity brothers was drunk and walked right into the PS2 controller cord which in turn ripped the console off of my television that was already on a stand. so picture like a 4 foot drop onto hard tile. it smashed pretty bad, but i took it apart and had it running Without the entire top on it, along with manually having to open the dvd drawer with pliers. it lasted about a year until in completely gave in and i stole one on Ebay for like $60 plus 3 controllers and 6 games. so i guess it was worth the deathdrop.

Lol. I was ****ting myself when the TV fell. It wasn't from that high: maybe half a foot. There's a little grey area.

Actually I've never had any problems with my launch ps2

Put my Japanese PS2 (first model ever released, SCPH 10000, bought March 2000, 100 Volt) into Indonesian power outlet (220V). BOOM! PS2 is dead (2000-2004), long live slim PS2 (2004-)

Tried to change the fuse, but apparently the motherboard is fried

lightning struck my house in 2004. bolt went through my room destroying my tv, bed, VCR, computer, digital camera and NTL digital tv box......

....the ps2 was unhurt. That was freakin' spooky. among the melted remains of said, tv, VCR my ps2 was unharmed and worked fine.

that day almost made me question my athiest beliefs... "ps2 god.....i hear you o' lord!!!"
Im a happy bunny as i got a ps3, day one uk release! now...if MS change the xbox's processor so it does not over heat, i will get one....

so i played my friends wii, i like it but after 2 hours of sweating like a monkey we were both like "screw this...turn on the ps3..."

Nice one! I had a 15" portable fall onto my PS2 once...totally killed it (the PS2, not the TV!) I also stood on one with full-force, but all that did was crack the casing...lucky me eh?!

I had a slim, it fell off a seat in my friends van travelling to a vollyball tournament, and it fell up against the door, the door was then opened after getting out of McDonalds, the PS2 slid out the crack between the door and the van, then was crunched between the door and the van, the door jerked back causing the PS2 to fall to it crumbled death to the ground.

    Or... so we thought.

We then tested it out without the lid cover and it spun the disk. After about five minutes of spinning the disk it started up. Creeppy.

It then died a few weeks later.

    We will miss you PS2.

I wonder how many PS2s have been subject to "accidents" recently?! I mean, come on, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii...plenty of reasons to accidentally kill the PS2, right?! "Mum, dad, my console is busted, I need a new one, but not a straight replacement, it has to be this...!"

    Not a thing.

I always take care of my stuff (although accidents do happen). Even my games years later are in perfect condition as well as the console.

i drove my ps2 into the ground while modding it. I took the case off and cut windows and layered with plexi, and then installed LEDS. unfortunatelyl i think once i closed it back up there was a short somewhere or somethin or other.... needless to say i burnt out the psu. i was gonna buy another one online and get it back up n running but i figured id just wait for my new baby (ps3) which is exactly what i did. lemme see if i still have a pic of my ps2.... yep, here they are:
