Tv next to Ps3 Concerns?

In the Ps3 manual it says to not leave your Ps3 next to the Tv... i for one have this set up that way where the tv is flat on the wall and my ps3 is sitting on my computer desk which is right under the Tv........ Any idea what kinda damage this can come about.... only thing that comes to mind is radiation? or just heat from the tv?

Not sure but my Ps3 is right under my Tv So i don't know. Which will get damaged Ps3 or TV

I think it might have something to do with like having a microwave turned on next to a TV, not sure though. (Microwaves do not leech off radiation)

might result in "pixel pull", like if you leave a speaker that's not video-shielded near a TV. Makes the green spot near the speaker on the TV

If thats true its ghetto. Video shielding is common sense for a console.

3 feet away should be fine if you ask me.

I have my PS3 sitting on top of a Yamaha Natural Sound receiver, no glitches anywhere...

For a 700 console it should be shielded.

by the way how do i change my "inventory"

you have to have points to change your inventory so you can buy things..

Does anyone know the "official" answer? I can't believe that the ps3 wouldn't be shielded. (I have mine sitting pretty near the tv, off to the bottom right, and have yet to experience any problems) My guess is that they want to make sure the ps3s air ventilation isn't blocked, but that's just a guess.

Anybody know the truth?

I dont think its a shielding thing rather a heat thing, alot of people have dlps and plasmas which are known to give off some heat...thats what I believe could be wrong.
