Refurbished psp mem stick has porn!

FORT WORTH, Texas -- A Fort Worth mother said the refurbished Sony PlayStation Portable memory card she bought from a local Gamestop store was packed with pornography.

Sandra Hemm said she bought the refurbished card for her son at the McCart and Alta Mesa store and was told it would be like new.

Instead, she said, the card, which stores game data, contained several pornographic videos and photos.

She said she made the discovery when her son, John, and a friend turned on the game system.

"Oh my goodness. I just, my stomach turned, you know. I just was sick. I just couldn't believe they had witnessed that," Hemm said.

A GameStop spokesman said he has never heard of an incident like this happening and said the company has a process to erase data from refurbished cards.

The GameStop corporate office is investigating.

Why? Considering how easy it is to put porn on the memory stick, why does it matter. If you want porn on it, just load it. Which, by the way begs a question. Was the porn already on the card, or did the kids managed to load it, and just used the worn by the ages, "It was like that when I found it," excuse.

sadly its very very easy to get porn on the memstick and play videos. This isnt suprising at all you can put anything with video and audio on you psp. I just use mine to play games and the only video clip I had on my psp was the trailers/teasers for GeOW.

God all this local news, but seriously, I live 300 yards from McCart, and the nearest gamestop is about 1.5 miles down the street at altamesa. Gawd... wow.

ugh, that gamestop still has no ps3 kiosk/demo booth, but has one for all other consoles (although the wii has no wiimote).

Not if you know what you are doing. If you run Fire Fox with JavaScript disabled, it is next to impossible to get a virus from a web page. As for downloading, just don't download any executables. AVI and MPEG files cannot contain viruses. Simple as.
