I will admit, Lock stock was a challenge the first time I watched it, but after a few more viewings i think i got almost all of it.

Here you have this society with questionable morals, but then you have the protagonists, who allegedly set themselves apart from the rest of said society but still find violence as a feasible resort to take. So maybe that cruelty is not just present in modern America, but perhaps it exists in all mankind.

You're totally not, I've literally said the same thing after the movie ended "this isn't just in America, but most of the world too". The part where he says that it's a modern coliseum is absolutely right. American Idol does make fun of its bad singers and William Hung just wanted to cash-in on his horrible voice. I will admit that it does over-saturate the point a little too much in some of the scenes where he's watching TV, but he dialogue is the best part of it for me....oh and when he shoots the people talking in the theater and the douchebag who can't park his car properly. It made me think of personal experiences.

My favorite part is when the main character basically describes the setting we live in when he's talking to the co-worker he shares his office with.

I was a lot more excited about this doc, thinking it would be hilarious. In reality it was much more mild but not bad.

    Underworld 4: 6.5/10

A decent attempt at adding to the series, but it's not any better than the others. The first one will always be the best. Oh and Kate Beckinsale in body tight latex is good enough reason to watch this movie.

    Grindhouse

    Terror Planet: 7/10

Didn't really get into this one, I think it was overkill with homage to the 70's and 80's horror, but I did like the clever universe he set up here. They're all in the present time, yet they think like they're in the 70's. I liked From Dusk til Dawn a lot more than this.

    Death Proof: 10/10

Now this one was paying homage right. It didn't go overkill with the setting, I mean you could still see it, but the dialogue was fresh and kept you in the present the whole time. It's a love letter to car chase movies and Kurt Russell as Stuntman Mike is badass. I was actually rooting for the villain. This is by QT, so I knew it was gonna be good. Mary Elizabeth Winstead in her cheerleader outfit inspires all kinds of thoughts and boners.

I liked this one a little more than the previous and Rob Downey does a phenomenal English accent. Him and Jude Law are an unstoppable force. That being said, I still couldn't get into it. But I really like the cinematography and those goPro camera shots. This was pretty experimental in the camera shots department, as are most of Guy Ritchie's films.

First one was better. The end of this one is overkill but the canon sequence is intriguing.

    Alien: Director's Cut: 7.5/10

This is my first time seeing any of the Alien movies (i know). I thought it was really good. I love really well worked sci fi movies because there isnt a moment of bordem in them. I'm glad the annoying black guy didnt die first. I wish Lambert died earlier. she was useless. the movie was 2 hours long but felt short. I hope the sequels are as good! Also its really great watching a sci fi movie that isnt full of digital effects. Sure the alien looked a little bit hokey but for 79 it was pretty good and didnt bother me much. What I really liked though was the design of the ship and the alien ship where the eggs were.

Annoying black guy? He was one of the best characters! I wish that one whiny bitch who wouldn't stop crying died first. It's so unfair that she outlived the useful people.

damn, i guess i am ready to be disappoint whenever i come around to it. im guessing Aliens was made in a way to appeal to the most amount of people (thats what Cameron does). but do the other films still have the same 'cool sci fi' feel with mystery and suspense thatkeeps you glued to the screen? Also, when does she fight it with one of those robotic crate mover mechs.

Aliens is the last one with practical effects. Even that movie isn't nearly as suspenseful, more action packed (it is cameron after all). It's saving grace is that mech scene.

Past the first sequel, it all goes downhill and fast. Really isn't suspense at that point.

Battleshit - 5.5/10 - Very good CGI scenes, the rest was crap. I shall be redeemed though, once tomorrow comes!
